That should be part of the discussion, Exodor. I know that some people really liked the separation, because they liked to focus on upcoming releases. Also, we originally created the RtG forum because it helped to ease some of the congestion in games by title during the buildup to a new release. It's not 100% necessary, though, which is why we didn't start these forums with it.
Exoder, once upon a time, we had one unified "PC Games by Title" at Gonegold. Eventually, we decided a Road to Gold forum made alot of sense, especially given the nature of Gonegold.
As it turned out, it also happened to be a pretty effective split. GBT was gettign crowded. Road to Gold got plenty of traffic though.
We don't *have* to have one. But if this forum grows at all, one would probably be nice.
The division would be helpful with posters like Grifman (assuming he visits). He posts about games that I've never heard tell of. It's useful to know whether the obscure ones are in release yet. The forum section in which the information is found answers the question for me.
No pouting from me one way or the other, but without "a feature" about up and coming gamesn, I prefer the separation. Even though I am way out of the buying a game or more every week habbit, I have always been more excited about reading what it coming over what is already here.
I was one of the biggest detractors to splitting out the "in development" games, but it was done despite my vocal whining. That said, it really worked. At one point roughly 80% of the most recent 200 PCGbT topics had either "Morrowwind" or "MW" in their subject line. The splitting of RtG basically killed that sort of behavior.
I think it'd be nice to set up that way from the get-go, but I'm okay with however it works out.
Just a thought... but I think that maybe when things like the name and url are sorted out, there might be some sort of cute as hell theme that could be applied across forum names, so maybe at this point generic names make more sense... eh?

It's true we want to be somewhat thematic. However, we might be flexible on that front on forum names. And yeah, we'll stay generic untul something good comes along.
To derail this slightly, I was wondering whether you shouldn't combine the General Gaming and Games by Title forii, as that seperation never really made sense to me and the General Gaming forum didn't really see *that* much traffic.
Actually he did. It was the sole thread name he was responsible for, I believe. Who knew.
However, I think it best to move on . Some forums (ex PC Games by Title) just have names that work well and are generic. Others may get a change, though.
