Affiliate tracking is generally accomplished through cookies. I don't know the relationship between those and bookmarked links, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's some disconnect between a cookie and a bookmark. The vendor pays for direct referrals.
Although I don't entirely understand how they measure it, as a retailer I know that vendors count referrals that arrive directly from the referring site.
Or maybe that's only true of users who block cookies. Those people screw up everything.
I changed my bookmark to whatever the current link is. I hope it'll start counting my stuff better now. Before, I think the above link immediately forwarded me to a url that ended with something like ref=null, and that's the page that was bookmarked, which could be why some of my items weren't showing up.
The link I'm currently using takes me to the video games page and has "octopoverl" in the url, so I think stuff I order through my bookmark should work now. Should be a Logitech USB Mic ordered Christmas day, and a Logitech mouse ordered today on your list if my bookmarks are working.

In an effort to support OO, I am giving up my search utility and just using the OO link, dragged to my bookmark bar, to go to Amazon. The only problem is that every time I click it, it takes me to the video game section, and I have to manually change it back to 'All Departments' before I can search, which is a pain. Why is this when so much of what's on the lists above includes books, DVDs, toys, mp3s, and so on?

Yeah, I always forget myself. Although I'm shopping for a new TV, so I'll do all I can to remember that one.

If you ever get into a position where cash is an issue, send me a pm and I'll help if I can. Especially if it's an emergency or something. Otherwise soak these other suckers during a fund raiser.
