Sub Silver gives the following error

Post by LordMortis »

When looking at a topic (but not posting)
[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /viewtopic.php on line 988: date(): It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'America/New_York' for 'EDT/-4.0/DST' instead

Yep, I get it too. Only when looking in a thread -not when posting or looking at the forums/subforums.

Ok how do I reproduce this? I'm not sure what you mean only when looking in a thread.. So you click on a topic and it throws that every time?
No.

That's what I'm seeing - and I'm using the black background.

Yep, just click to view a thread.

I'm getting this with the gold/black theme. Additionally the font explodes into a very large/magnified font, which I assume is just related to the error.

Also, in sub-silver, it's always at the very top of the page. I frequently have to scroll up to see it.

I'm getting it reading this very thread.

I also see it with Black Pearl.

Related bug: The zoom levels are out of sync (Firefox 3.6.whatever). If I adjust the size so that the board index looks right, open threads are zoomed to maximum. If I adjust the thread text size, the board index is invisibly small (minimum zoom?).

Don't know if these are related or not.

EDIT: And a few minutes after posting this both the error message and the zoom problem went away. I guess they were related.

The error message is gone and the font size has returned to it's normal non-asploded state. Thanks.

Errors still there? Found a documented issue that this timezone setting is now mandatory.. So I set it and restarted apache. Odd that I never saw the error on my end though?

Ok good.. This PHP upgrade was a bitch. Now I need to chase down why dbase.so is only in the lib folder and not lib64... Grr.

Well I was able to downgrade the php-apc package that was throwing an error and got that sorted.. But when I go to downgrade php-dbase I get a stream of errors basically telling me to go fuck my hat, and I can only upgrade.

So report any odd PHP behaviour here.. Aside from the module throwing an error at init, it seems to be running fine for now. If there's continued weird behaviour I will strip out php entirely and reinstall it (ya something I don't really want to do).
