What happened to this post?

Post by stessier »

Is it just me, or is this post really messed up? I've reloaded a number of times and it still comes up borked.

I'm seeing a reply above Wargus' avatar. I checked other posts of his and they all look fine.

You've got two spoilers inside a quote, along with two subordinate quoted posts inside it.

Comes up fine for me in IE8 (work required). What browser are you using?

Chrome.

The post itself looks okay, but above his avatar (in the avatar column) is this:
1) They assume a brute force attack.
2) They assume computers will not evolve to have the necessary efficiency.
3) they assume standard speed of light computing.

For the first, maybe a brute force attack is the only way to hack this (I'm no expert), however I suspect that if the algorithm is known somebody will work out how to hack it.

As far as the second 2 items, computers may not be limited to speed of light processing, they are already working on quantum entanglement and are looking towards quantum computers for cracking encryption.

I don't know - I'm by no means an expert. I do believe history is on my side in denouncing the unbreakable, unbeatable anything.

That appears in the appropriate location for me, being the content of his post (FF4).

I just loaded it in Chrome and there doesn't appear to be any issues that I can see. Screenshot?

I deleted my cookies and cleared my cache. I still get this:

That's the only post it's happening on, so probably not worth worrying about - but it does bug me a bit. :)

I don't see it (the text in the avatar column) on Firefox 3.6.17, but I'm not on subSilver, but rather black pearl (or whatever it's called)...

I'm on the bluey white skin, whatever it's called. Just checked, and the text is still there for my browser. Rest of the thread is built/rendered/drawn correctly.

Shrug.
