There is no way to limit the number of people joining a tournament. That said, I'm sure we're not going to be overrun ;) If it works out, I'm sure we can do a heads up without too much issue.

Right now it's heads-up, but folks can keep joining us for the next 15 minutes or so. Should be cool!

I'm dying laughing here.

The cool thing is that a person can set "late registration" options so you can have folks who just stumble on the thread (or that intended to play a tournament but showed up late) still participate.

Looks like we're both registered for this one. :)

A play-money night may be just the thing to get OOers on board with this (esp. with teamspeak -- chat windows are fine for the two of us, but with 8 or 10 it could get pretty gnarly). Once folks see how much fun this is, I could see enrollment skyrocket.

Edit:
Oh man. You did it again. For tomorrow!

Would this be the place where I remind myself to thank you for setting up this club *and* not breaking your wrist or shorting out your mouse in the process? :D

This could be a setup. I had to create a game at 00:00 ET (29 January). Hopefully that's what midnight EST is for you. I wasn't willing to wait another five minutes to ensure I could get it right.

There should be an in-lobby chat (we could use the cash table, but thats sort of clunky, too). And you should be able to set up games at any time, not only in 5 minute clock increments that are >5 minutes in the future. These may be our only (annoying) limitations, though.

I know I have money sitting in my PS account. Just a matter of finding the time to update the client and joining the group. Much more likely for me to jump in for a tourney than to sit around a cash table.

How much lead time can you how in setting up/announcing a tourney? The one you guys were talking about looked it was set up on the fly. Can we get one set up a few days/or week ahead of time and maybe get a few people lined up for it?

Yeah, that's possible. I'm out of town this weekend through next, so I wouldn't be able to join in on that fun, but someone could theoretically set up a tournament for next Saturday at 8pm (EST) and then whomever signed up for it by then (+ a few minutes of fudge-factor time for late registrants) would be able to join in.

I've created a tournament for Saturday 8pm Eastern.

No limit Hold'Em. 2$+.20$ buy-in. Normal game speed. Winner takes all. Blind interval at 5 minutes and 1,500 starting chips.

Kept the buy-in small to get the ball rolling.

If anyone has any comments on any of these settings, speak up and we can discuss changes :)

Cheers!

I would be interested in a play money game. But, for now I don't want to deal with the real money/pokerstars issues. If I had lots of fun in a play money game, it might become worth my while to figure it all out (or, more likely, donate so I can play).

Ok - downloaded the newest client, and have applied to join. Will check back tomorrow, or soon to see the lay of the land. I might be available for the Saturday tourney. Buy-in sounds goods.

Accepted and accepted. We are now 9.

I am unfortunately not able to play tonight at 8 due to mom's bday. I'll log in when I get home and see if anyone is playing.

Could anyone who is not admin (basically anyone but Meal and myself) try to create a cash tourney and let me know if you were able to?

I've gone ahead and created some more tourneys in case no one else can, to give people some options.

Just FYI, I see no scheduled ring tables or tournaments. I wonder if that's because I'm using the .net client so I can only see play money tables? They definitely need to work on this new feature. :)

How do I know if I have a .net or .com? Been so long since I downloaded it I do not remember which I got (I assume it is .net because that sounds more familiar).

If you can deposit money through the Cashier button... .com. If not, .net. Do you see any cash games or all play points games?

Alright, we are up to 11.

We should maybe set up a game where we can get 5 or so people at least. 2 to 5 dollar tourney buy in.

When's good for you guys?

Do we all get emails when someone sets up a tournament? If that's the case, then there's no hurting in just setting a tournament up and seeing who shows.

Still, cool to try to coordinate. Pending the answer to the question above (I definitely do get the emails), I may try to set up some games in the evenings this week.

I'm fine up to a buy-in of $4.85 until I figure out a way to give them more cash.
