Tabletop is starting season 2 on April 4th!

In other G&S news, Space Janitors is also supposed to start season 2 that week and they have a new show called Fetch which I haven't had a chance to watch the announcement video for yet. I wonder what shows they won't be bringing back.

I didn't know any of those folks on it. And overall, I thought the episode was fairly weak, kind of an anti-climactic ending. Love this game, but some sessions of it are like that.

Overall, I think this season has been a bit weaker. I didn't like Once Upon a Time, and as much as I love Formula D, I thought that episode wasn't very good either. But I must admit I thought the Resistance episode was one of their best.

This is the only one I've seen. I found the guy to be very annoying, but learned of DailyGrace and Hannah Hart as a result so I consider it a win. The game was also fairly uninspiring as it seemed like they glossed over some things (parts that I actually found really interesting while watching the Forum Game Isgrimnur runs).

Some games, I've noticed, just don't make for good TV. Any game where the gameplay involves fairly repetitive tasks, but the fun comes through a slow, steady buildup of tension doesn't seem to do well on Tabletop. I absolutely avoided Castle Panic! after seeing it on Tabletop, as it looked dull as hell. I eventually ended up getting it anyway, and love it. Going back and watching the episode again, it just seems that it isn't the type of game where the tension (and thus, the fun) is going to be visible on the show.

It's also worth noting that in both Castle Panic! and King of Tokyo, they skipped ahead over the middle portions of the game to shorten it, probably for the same reason. Individual turns just aren't that interesting to watch.

Did you see the video on the making of that picture? I think it's on Geek and Sundry somewhere....or maybe the making of the Guild. It was an amusing watch.

Yes, that is the picture that Zabu painted to give to Codex after she had a date with Wil's character in "The Guild" when Wil was in a rival guild.

This. I'm not a big ST fan (I like the shows but never have gone out of my way to watch any of them) but I really like his post ST cameos.

It's actually pretty simple (play one minion, play one action). Everything you need to know is printed on your cards and the game play is essentially manipulating the base rule in some capacity. The fun is in how the different factions mix together. I always force a random deck selection as I feel it's the most fair, but I think that makes things worse for him.

Damn you for making me go look, but she is very cute. Beautiful may be overstating it slightly. In the end the only thing that matters is if I'd do her, and the answer is of course I would.

Saw this today:
We wrapped production on season two of Tabletop on Tuesday night. When I got home from the set, Anne asked me how I was feeling.

“Do you feel sad that it’s over, or relieved that you get to catch your breath?”

I grabbed a glass out of the kitchen and walked across our living room.

“I’m tired, so I’m looking forward to a couple days of being a fat piece of shit on the couch, but I’m going to miss playing games all day for my job.”
