Memorable gaming lines

Post by Pyperkub »

Was thinking about this after the Random Randomness thread, but one of my favorite lines from a game is the original Command & Conquer Commando shouting "I've got a present for ya!" when he'd blow up a building.

What lines from games stick out in your mind - spoiler them if necessary!

Every single thing that Handsome Jack says in Borderlands 2.

And every single thing that Tiny Tina says in Borderlands 2. :D

And a lot of the lines the rest of the characters deliver as well. I can't think of any other game that has had dialogue stick in my mind so well.

I speel my drink!

Don't shoot! I'm with the science team!

Well as long as I'm in here I might as well pick up something for myself.

You must gather your party before venturing forth.

Plebs are needed!

Go for the eyes, Boo!

I know them all except that one. Was it Thief?

I will add:

"Look at you, hacker: a pathetic creature of meat and bone, panting and sweating as you run through my corridors. "

"Stay a while, and listen!"

"Not without my buddy Superfly!" (Memorable; not great.)

"War. War never changes."

"Stand next to leetle cart!"

"Whatchu wanna kill?"

" "

"It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a Grue"

"Hello, sailor"

"You have died of dysentery"

"A Winner is You"

"All your base are belong to us"

“I'm selling these fine leather jackets.”

"Want some rye? 'Course you do"

"Thank you Mario, but our princess is in another castle!"

"It's dangerous to go alone, take this!"

"For science, you monster"

"So how are you holding up? Because I'm a potato"

"M-m-m-m-multi kill!"

(Some of them I remember without ever having played the games in question)

Yep. It's mostly memorable to me because I played the hell out of that level when I got my hands on the demo.

"I've got Eldar blood all over me!.... It’s all shiny!"

"If ya chop at the neck, 'ead comes right off!"

Pretty-much every line of dialogue Jon Irenicus had in Baldurs Gate 2.

I don't think anything can top the Citizen Kane of PC gaming:

Sanity is for the weak! - Chaos Marines in WH40K: Dawn of War

Always really liked that line.

"Where are the Tau guns?" - Kroot getting hit (again WH40K: DOW) - either early in before I could deploy the Tau guns, or while a squad of firewarriors was blasting the people they were fighting (often w/ the Tau commander and 1 or more stealth squads also providing fire support). "Umm.... they're surrounding you blasting at the guys you're fighting?" :)

"This is gonna hurt... A LOT!" - Ork mad doc medics (WH40K:DOW still)

Someone already listed "Go for the eyes Boo!" - which is probably the most memorable line ever for me. My wife even knows it and she doesn't play games like these.

"Would you, kindly..."

"I'm going to rip off your head and shit down your neck."

"Oh my God! I forgot the wife!" (from the oft forgotten Giants: Citizen Kabuto)

"I'll be your companion, your... provider, and... YOUR MASTER!" (I also love "Do you think you have WON!? Think again!")

"It's a zergling, Lester."

"Conglaturation!!! You have completed a great game. And proved the Justice of our culture. Now go and rest our heroes!!"

That game is notorious on the internet for all the lines. The major ones are:

Handsome Jack is like the ultimate antagonist. Sure, I want to beat the boss in most games, but in Borderlands 2 I want to strangle the ever living shit out of him until his eyes pop out of his head, while alternating between loud guffaws and screams of rage.
