Good point. Perhaps he is laying low in the hopes we will hang Ralphie. Could I have been premature in my judgement?

I've been plowing the fields and then the neighbor's daughter all day. Sorry for my absence. I'm apalled to learn that one of our own has been murdered. After reviewing the evidence I've been able to get my hands on however, I'm convinced Wiggum is NOT a werewolf. I am however concerned about the devious nature of our supposed friend tgb. I'm not comfortable leaving my fate in his hands. Hang 'im.

Death to Ralph-Wiggum. I knew I saw a man coming out of the forest with bloody hands and torn clothing.

Death to HIM!

There was also someone watching and taking notes behind the stack of hay. Who can this be, I wonder.

Alas, I do believe the spy had red and white shoes. Could the red be blood? Ralph-Wiggum may have gotten into a fight, thus he may not be the filthy vermin.

Perplexing, this is.

Notes:

One player wrote: "If you think it through, the Seer is going to be absolutely silent in this thread except to vote if he has a half a brain in his head (and I hope he does). The last thing he'll want to do is draw attention to himself."

This advice is wrong. With great power comes great responsibility. The only way for the Villagers to win is to kill all the werewolves, and the only substantial, non-random advantage they have is the Seer's insight. The Seer must speak in order to guide the lynch mob toward werewolves; it's just that the Seer must do so without blowing his cover. This is best done either by boasting of one's Seerhood and then accusing a Villager (thus seeming like a blowhard to the werewolves) or by hiding one's Seerhood and accusing mostly-- or only-- as part of a bandwagon (thus seeming like a mob-follower to the werewolves). If the Seer is silent, he'll stand out.

I point this out because it's possible the person who gave the bad advice hadn't thought it through, but it's also possible that he knew perfectly well that it was bad advice ("You're brainless if you talk at all!") and offered it up in a deliberate attempt to cripple the Seer and generate FUD.

The latter tactic would strongly suggest that the person engaged in deliberate misinformation is a werewolf.

Ok, I'm awake!

Votes now are:

tgb - Ralph-Wiggum
CGMark - tgb
Ralph-Wiggum - tgb
smutly - tgb
setaside - tgb
Crux - tgb
gbasden - tgb
Yankeeman84 - Ralph-Wiggum
Suitably Ironic Moniker - tgb

It was setaside who sealed tgb's fate with his vote.

Kicking and screaming, tgb is dragged onto the gallows and hung like a dog!

But not enough like a dog - examination of a the corpse reveals he was human after all.

The village huddles together in fear. What have they done? And now the werewolves are free to kill another night.

At least the seer is still out there somewhere....

IT IS NIGHT

No talking please while we resolve the Werewolves' and Seer's actions.

Good luck Villagers...

Oh, and thank you everyone for your interest in the next round! I think I'll shoot for more players next time to try and fit you all in. :)

Count me as wanting in for round 2 if there is room.

Question about the game (not in game talking):

Should you tell us if the person lynched is innocent or not? Wouldn't it be better to keep us ignorant?

Those are the rules. All bets are off at night though, the werewolves could even kill each other, and you'd be none the wiser.
Insert witty comment here.

There is an argument for doing it that way, yes. In future games I may experiment with rules variations. For now though, there are advantages to doing it this way - the chief one is, the villagers need all the extra information they can get, so stacked against them are the odds if they can't both aquire knowledge and use it. :)

IT IS DAY

The village went to bed haunted by their own actions as well as the fate that almost certainly awaited one of their number that night. Dawn found Octopus-Over-Lordington a diminsihed place of suspiscious glances, mutterings and guilty consciences.

As tgb's body swung gently on the breeze, the citizens glumly awaited the inevitable discovery.

It came from the house of Ralph-Wiggum, so nearly put to death the day before, his savaged remains all but unidentifiable.

After the screams had died down, a kind of grim resolve set in amongst the remaining members of the village. If they were ever to be free of this menace, today they would have to kill again.

-----------------

Okay, hopefully you know the drill by now. Accuse, defend, lie like rugs, etc. Remember: votes are in bold. The majority needed today is four.

Oh, and no talking from Ralph-Wiggum, please. :) Better luck next time, eh?
