[Jihad] Game Over, Man. Game Over!!! Or is it?

Post by McNutt »

The terrorists are up to something big. A strike team has been called up to track them down and end the threat. Unfortunately the strike team has been compromised and the team knows it. The team consists of eleven members, but it appears that two of them are double agents working with the Jihad. In additioin, there is a member who is torn between his civic duty and his sympathy with the Jihad.

Rules
Each night the two Jihad members will kill a member of the team. Each morning the rest of the team, hungry for revenge, will kill another member.

Shifting Allegiance
The confused member will be able to identify one person per day as Jihad or not. That person can do what they want with that information. They can choose to join the Jihad or stamp them out. If the confused member is killed it will not be announced that they were the confused member. If they join the Jihad they must do so before the second Jihad member is killed.

Bomb pack
The first Jihad agent to be killed will detonate a bomb pack and take a strike team member down with him. They decide which member dies, but he/she may only choose from the strike team members that voted for hiim. Only the first Jihad member to be killed will have a bomb pack.

Sniper shot
Once a majority decision has been reached on who to kill the team will have an option to use the sniper shot. This can only be used once, but if a Jihad member is hit with the sniper shot they do not have the ability to detonate their bomb pack. Again, majority decides if the sniper shot is used.

First 11 get the invite.

The list is set. The terrorists and the confused one have been notified. When I get their replies I'll let you know who's the first to go home. Dead.

It seems the terrorists got scared and ran home. Guess they're going to give their 72 virgins to someone else.

I figured I would play this to help pass some of the empty time on the weekend. I guess I was wrong. Oh well. Even if we don't actually start playing until Monday at least it will be something to do instead of work.

If the terrorists turn into pacifists, can we still kill someone at random?

then again maybe they are here amongst us now and just waiting for their time to strike...hmmm sneaky bastards.

Nah, I think they got an advance preview of their 72 virgins and realized it wasn't exactly as advertised.

After proving yourself in training and combat you were asked to become a member of Strike Team Two. Joining the team was a great honor and your families were very proud. You've never heard your father boast of any of his children as much as he does about you. You've been on some hairy missions and have inflicted real damage to the enemy. Years ago you read reports of high-ranking members of the Jihad being killed in surgical strikes. You never thought you'd be performing those strikes.

About two months ago things went bad. Your team called in coordinates for an artillery strike, but after a direct hit you found that the Jihad had used civilians as human shields. This was a major PR nightmare, but you didn't have long to think about that. Your team was ambushed on the way back. You fought your way through, but lost a few members. Since then you've picked up a few replacements, but attitudes seem to have changed. Some feel their hatred for the Jihad growing, but some are beginning to question the goal of the fighting.

Now you have new orders. There is a camp that HQ believes to be a major terrorist training facility. The camp is too far away to reach in one day, so your team will drive through the desert, camp for the night, and hit the target the next night.

You create a makeshift bed in the sand and try to get some rest. Tomorrow night will be hectic. Unfortunately you don't get much rest. It seems like your head just hit the ground when people started screaming. You wake up to find the team in chaos. All communication equipment has been smashed and the vehicles have been completely disabled. You're in the middle of nowhere and it's unlikely an outsider did this. No, this was done by someone on your team. Nobody is sure who did it, but you know who didn't do it. Msteeler's body was found behind a dune. His skull was bloody and his throat had been cut.

Nobody trusts anybody. The enemy is among you and they've destroyed any ability to complete the mission. Now you don't know if you'll even be rescued. You liked msteelers and want the bastards responsible for his death to pay.

Discuss who you want to kill and vote by writing their name in bold. Keep in mind that if the person you pick is a member of the Jihad, they will blow themselves up and take one of you with them unless you use the sniper shot option. This can only be used once, so make it count.

What would you do, if you were asked to give up your dreams for freedom? What would you do, if you were asked to make the ultimate sacrifice?

Freedom isn't free. It costs folks like you and me. And if we don't all chip in we'll never pay that bill. And if you don't throw in that buck oh five who will?
