Pretty good first half of games. Ended up just missing one (CLE vs. JAX). Let's hope I can keep that pick 'em rate up through this next set of games.

I think you'll be fine as I'm four points back and not doing great myself.

Yeah, I goofed that one, too.

But hey, the Redskins are the Redskins, so I only missed one lock. I had no clue KC would blow out Denver like that. In Denver, no less.

Just to give some drama to tonight's game--Ralph-Wiggum and Remus West are tied for the last playoff spot. They picked opposite teams tonight, meaning one is in and one is out. Those wishing to see Remus in the playoffs, you are now Bengal fans. Ralphites are rooting for Gang Green. Due to the large gap between the other folks just below the line and those above, with the exception of RW and R-W your current standing relative to the line is final.

Did we all pick NYJ? Even worse, did those guys lock them?

If we all finished tied for EoS, is there a tiebreaker?

All picked NYJ, with you and Stinky locking. So if CIN wins or ties, Mr. Jim gets it. If NYJ wins (lookin' that way), you two tie for it. We'd go to the tie-breakers.

1) Favre TDs. Stinky: 26. JM: 17. Reality: 29. Bzzzt.
2) Best reg-season record. Stinky: PIT. JM: NE. Reality: IND. Bzzzt.
3) Non-QB w/most TDs. JM: AP. Stinky: Maurice Jones-Drew. Reality: AP, by one over Maurice Jones-Drew!

So JMDiller (guess I should change your name in the pool, eh?) gets it!

And here are the final reg-season standings assuming NYJ hang on:

Player Ttl Rglr Season Pts
GamerIrv 423
pr0ner 413
Captain Caveman 413
The Meal 411
Mitma 411
Stinky Cheeseman 409
Zaxxon 407
Miss Taken 407
JMDiller 404
Mr. Jim 401
Moghedian 401
Grievous Angel 398
Mr. Lem 398
Soulbringer 397
Teflon Rich 396
Gwartok 396
Ralph-Wiggum 395
-------------------------
Remus West 393
Mr. Bob 390
Rdog 389
Jeff V 387
Kurth 387
Jiffy 386
Monkeyskunk 385
Isgrimnur 380
JC Anejo 373
$iljanus 370
Big Jake 368
JC Anejo IM 353
Moghedian IM 343
GuidoTKP 337
Jim Spielman 332
Exodor 313

For the record, Remus West beat last year's regular-season winner, and he doesn't even go to the playoffs. Next year we need to require drinking before submixxilation or something...

That's crazy. You'd think the NFL added a week 18 or we started giving points in the preseason with numbers like that.

Kudos to those in the playoffs, good luck to all! Thanks again Zaxxon for running the pool, I had a fun time and will certainly be back next year, aiming to reclaim a playoff spot!

I didn't say anything the first time I saw it in the thread, but I have a vested interest in making sure that folks remember the history of the 2009 pool.

And yes, major thanks to Zack for running a great pool again this year!

First off, thanks to everyone for participating. To those who won't be continuing onward to the playoffs, I hope you'll stick around and partake in the commentary on the OO thread. And more importantly, that you'll join us again next year.

Congrats to GamerIrv, who completed his 13-week run at the top of the standings to take the regular-season title and 10% of the pot. Congrats also to JMDiller, who won the End-of-Season Surge award on the last tie-breaker over Stinky Cheeseman. Tiebreaker process follows:

1) Favre TDs. Stinky: 26. JM: 17. Reality: 29. Bzzzt.
2) Best reg-season record. Stinky: PIT. JM: NE. Reality: IND. Bzzzt.
3) Non-QB w/most TDs. JM: AP. Stinky: Maurice Jones-Drew. Reality: AP, by one over Maurice Jones-Drew!

As a reminder, the folks above the line are moving on to the playoffs. You each have five locks total to use across all eleven playoff games. The Super Bowl is worth 4 points, all others are worth the usual two. Locks are +/- 1 as usual, even if used on the Super Bowl. Playoff ties are broken first by regular-season point total and then by tie-breaker answers. Top three finishers take something home. Games start on Saturday (yes, this Saturday). Good luck!

Game of the Week: I got nothin'.

Upset of the Week: KC @ DEN. Not so much that KC won while DEN benched their best players, but more that DEN got whooped up real good.

Sure Thing of the Week: BAL over OAK.

Game of Next Week: Playoffs? Playoffs??! Don't talk about playoffs!

Administrata the First: Remember (again) that we have a new error-correction policy this year. Make sure that you check the spreadsheet to verify that I got your score right. Corrections for this week will be accepted until the end of the final Wildcard-round game. Speak up by then or forever keep quiet. Corrections for weeks 1-16 are now closed.

Administrata the Second: Make sure to check out the pool's thread on OO for intra-week trash talking and discussion.

On three of the games, you can just pick the folks that won last week's version of the game. I recommend locking all three, as well.

Those are really messing with my head, I don't think everyone played to their full potential so I'm torn if they were flukes or the real deal. :?
