Ah, nice catch, LM.

Genghis' "bet of 60" was interpreted by me as being an attempt at a raise to 60. However, as LM pointed out, the action ahead on this street was a bet of 40 (the big blind) which means the minimum acceptable raise would be by 40 or a raise to 80.

So Genghis raised to 80, and JC Anejo called 80. I'll make a new post with the flop cards.

Congratulations to LordMortis, paulbaxter, and JC Anejo for finishing in the money! Anyone on the fence for joining the next tournament should make their decision quickly, as I'm about to open seats to the general population.

Not at all! I almost made a comment regarding the quality of cards I sent you, but then I feared you may try to read into my comment and that seems pretty inappropriate to me so I refrained.

I'll be explicit here: you folks are getting exactly the cards that the randomizer generates. I'm not pulling any shenanigans to try to manufacture interesting hands or in any way speed up the conclusion of the tournament.

I know. I'm just giving you shit. I'm terrible that way.

I've also been playing my position more than I've been playing my cards or the players at the table this game. While it hasn't done me "well", it somehow has kept me in the game. It's a good learning experience. However, I can't play position anymore. I can only play cards and to some extent the player and even then I still fall at any time.

But it's fun.

More fun then last time I went to go play for reals, waited an hour and a half for the next round of poker to start, and went all in on the first hand to intentionally scare people off my non connectors straight before a stupid flush came or an accidental full house made me regret not being more aggressive, only I was called by someone else who made a better non connectors straight. That was also a learning experience... Or probably should have been. I see myself making the same stupid play in the future.
