With the end of the STL @ SEA which-losing-team-wants-a-playoff-spot game, the regular season has come to a close. Thanks to all of you for another fun year. This season provided some intrigue all the way down to this last game--its outcome impacted the playoff eligibility of three players. With the SEA win, UJ leapfrogged Jeff V and Remus West, knocking them below The Line and taking the final playoff spot. If your name is below The Line, so long and thanks for all the fish. If your name is above The Line, welcome to the playoffs. A quick refresher / intro for those of you new to the playoffs:
-Pick each game, just as in the regular season.
-Games are scored the same as the regular season, with the exception of the Super Bowl, which is worth 4 points.
-You have five locks total that can be used across all eleven playoff games. Locks are +/- 1 point--even if used on the Super Bowl.
-Ties are broken first by your regular-season score, and then by your tie-breaker answers submitted with your Week 1 picks.
-The top three finishers earn the pot--40%, 30%, and 15% respectively. Total pot is $900 this year--42 regular entries and 6 half-price Ironman entries.
Please submit any corrections to your Week 17 scores ASAP. Corrections will only be accepted through Wednesday just in case something comes up that impacts the playoff roster.
But enough of that. On to the recap.
-GamerIrv earns the Dumbass award for the week, neglecting to send all but tonight's pick--and incorrectly locking that one to earn a negative score. Had he submitted even a slightly sub-average set of picks this weeks, he'd have been above the line.
-Naednek earns a different Dumbass award of sorts, also neglecting to submit. He had been leading the End-of-Season Surge competition through last week.
-Congratulations to UJ for an epic comeback. After Week 10 he was 26 points below the line. After Week 15 he was 13 points below the line. After 255 of 256 games he was below the line. And now he's above it. UJ, please cease this nonsense now and allow the rest of us a chance.
-Congratulations to Jiffy for winning the unofficial Ironman competition. Although not part of the actual pool, the six Ironman entrants had a side bet going on. Jiffy finished with an impressive 336 points--missing the playoffs by only eleven points despite the fact that he picked the entire season before Week 1's opening kickoff.
-Congratulations to Captain Caveman for winning the regular-season portion of the competition. He finishes with 378 points, and is in pole position for the playoffs, winning all ties. Oh, and he'll head home with 10% of the pot ($90).
-Congratulations to The Meal for winning the EoS Surge award! He finished the competition with 125 points in weeks 13-17, tying him with UJ. The first tie-breaker is regular-season score, earning Meal the win. Meal goes home with 5% of the total pot ($45).
-Boo--and hiss--to those of you who once again saw fit to drop out early. Teflon Rich takes first in this competition, falling out before the season was even halfway over.

Ya I totally forgot to submit them. I'm not sure why. I usually do after updating the NFL thread in EBG. I'm disgusted. I don't know if I would have won the EOS, hell I never even heard of it, and didn't know there was $$$ involved
