Going with a 2 strikes and you are eliminated vice the 1 strike we have run in the past.
Rules: Pick one team each week you are certain is going to win. Each team can only be used once, until the playoffs when it resets to playoff teams. Pool will continue through the playoffs. If you get 2 weeks wrong, it is game over for you. Winner will be the last man standing.

In. Now I can get away with my obligatory Detroit pick and not have it cost me the season.

Partially. Primary reason is Yahoo added the option for 1, 2 or 3 strikes, and I'm all about trying the new rules, at least once.Semaj wrote: This because last year half the league+ was gone like week 3?

Did I win last year? I have no idea... I am probably down... I just know I'ma spend a week or two in October flying from Vancouver to Buffalotheohall wrote:Partially. Not sure if you can post picks early. Cannot find anything about that in the rules, so may have to wait until week 1 to find out.The Rules wrote:If you fail to make a pick during a given week, you will be credited with a "Strike" (i.e., an incorrect pick). If your group's setting is "1 Strike and You're Eliminated," then you will be eliminated. If, however, your group allows more than 1 Strike, you may remain Active if you fail to make a pick, depending on how many Strikes you had previously.
Don't remember who won last season. I don't think I participated and cannot find a thread. My OO-fu search skills need enhancing.

They're playing the Bears. Based on how Chicago has played this preseason, I'm confident that Chicago is the new Detroit.

I hope I'm wrong, and I know it's just the preseason, but I've seen very little encouraging. At all. Cutler being sacked 74 times in 3 games, the INTs still happening, the running game sucking it up for the most part, etc. Not looking like a promising season-to-be in Chi-town.LordMortis wrote:I find that impossible to believe. An offense.
A defense.
Special teams.

But the Rams were the new Detroit... And then Detroit stayed Detroit. And KC was the new Detroit and Detroit stayed Detroit. And it was Miami as the new Detroit and Detroit stayed Detroit... It seems like Tampa Bay may eventually give Detroit a run for the money. But even they have a while to go.Zaxxon wrote:I hope I'm wrong, and I know it's just the preseason, but I've seen very little encouraging. At all. And yet I was still unable to pick the Bears this week..preseason was that abysmal, leaving us without even a modicrum of hope.LordMortis wrote:* Longest Road Streak Without Win

Re: OONFL Survivor Football 2010
I could not pick the Bears either.
Lions - Stafford with WRs + Best at RB + what looks like an improved OL
Bears - Cutler + Martz, a disaster of an OL, and no other significant changes at WR while only adding Chester Taylor at RB = yet more INTs and sacks than last season. Don't be surprised if Martz winds up fired sometime mid-season when the GM finally realizes Cutler can't run a Martz offense. Heck, most QBs in the league can't run Martz kind of offense.

In! Though on the submission page it states: "Deadline to submit pick: 9/12/2010 11:00 am MDT" Maybe I should have held off until tomorrow morning to have made this pick?

And I got away with it! Yay Tampa Bay! LOL. I probbably should have gone with Tennessee, but they had that horrid start last year, and the Raiders looked pretty good @ the end of last year... they need to start Gradkowski - Campbell isn't ready yet.Pyperkub wrote:I don't like any of the games week one, so I'm going with a bit of a reach.

Week 2 picks are made. (Had to really seek to find this thread -- by the rules it should be in Forum Games, which would also make it much easier to find each week...)
