Sounds as if they tweaked it quite a bit.

I'll also post when I have a second the destination choices that I had as admiral. For the most part they were pretty favorable (though I don't know the full universe of destinations).

One of my Quorum Cards allowed me to appoint someone else (including myself) as Admiral on a roll of 3 or better. I took the Tactics Cards because I wanted Strategic Planning to make that a sure capability in case you flipped at the last moment.

Just to be clear, though, had I 'flipped' in terms of revealing as a cylon (or been brigged), the admiral title would have passed from me to the next person in the chain of command who was not a revealed cylon.

Here were my jump choices:

Jump 1 wrote:Choose 1 Destination Card:

Ragnar Anchorage
Distance: 1
The Admiral may repair up to 3 vipers and 1 raptor. These ships may be damaged or even destroyed.

Gas Cloud
Distance: 1
The Admiral may look at the top 3 cards of the Crisis deck, then place them on the top or bottom in any order.
The first jump. At this time we didn't have any damaged vipers or raptors. With the destination and fuel the same, this was a no brainer. I would also have chosen Gas Cloud if I were a cylon.

Jump 2 wrote:Destination Cards:

Remote Planet
Distance: 2
Lose 1 Fuel and destroy 1 raptor

Asteroid Field
Distance: 3
Lose 2 Fuel. Then draw 1 civilian ship and destroy it (lose the resources on the back).
The second jump. I chose Remote Planet. Similar fuel efficiency, but Asteroid Field would cause an additional resource loss while Remote Planet just cost a raptor. Plus Asteroid Field would have triggered the sleeper phase. Since we didn't seem to have a cylon on board I figured it better to stop just short of the sleeper phase and then (hopefully) jump beyond 4.

Jump 3 wrote:Tylium Planet
Distance: 1
Lose 1 Fuel. The Admiral may risk 1 raptor to roll a die. If 3 or higher, gain 2 fuel. Otherwise, destroy 1 raptor.

Cylon Refinery
Distance: 2
Lose 1 Fuel. The Admiral may risk 2 vipers to roll a die. If 6 or higher, gain 2 fuel. Otherwise damage 2 vipers.
Very similar. I chose Cylon Refinery. Basically since our fuel was in good shape, I figured the additional distance (and resulting fewer crises) were more important than a higher odds of gaining fuel. Plus the outcome is the same for the cards on most die rolls, only differing on a roll of 3-5.

Jump 4 wrote:Deep Space
Distance: 2
Lose 1 Fuel and 1 Morale.

A Civilian Convoy
Distance: 3
Lose 3 Fuel and gain 1 Population. The Admiral may choose to lose 1 Morale to gain 1 Fuel.
The last jump. We only needed to go 2+ distance, so either destination was fine. I chose Deep Space since fuel was our lowest resource (though still strong), so I figured I'd rather lose 1 fuel than 2 fuel. Had we not had that "Book of Pythia" crisis of whatever it was called, though, I could've chosen the Civilian Convoy to get us to 8/8.

This game was very very pro human. We hit almost not cylon attack cards.

With the exodus expansion all the cylon attack cards in the crisis deck are removed. Instead, a permanent cylon fleet hounds the Galactica through out the game. Also, when we jump civies don't leave the board but stay there and have to be escorted out of the combat zone by vipers.

I think everyone will like it more.

With the cylon attack cards removed, are there other new cards that place vipers on the board? I ask because it seems like without the cylon attack cards Lee Adama's ability (jumping into launched vipers) would be much, much weaker. Not that that's a big problem necessarily, just wondering.

Well, think of it this way. Your character went from being on a ship desperately fleeing constant attacks and searching for a homeland, to joining a secure people with plenty of safe planets under control. You went from the genocidee to the genocider in other words.

So...aren't you actually on the winning team?

Not to mention that for Scoop he's presumably regularly banging Tricia Helfer now.

Actually, now that I think about it no the vipers don't get launched by cards but any character can launch unmanned vipers using the command deck. Also, there a CAG now and he has some extra special powers for getting birds in the area.

Yeah, that definitely takes the sting out of letting your puny fleet go.
