I wish I was doing that well.
Average so far is 15.56; leaders have 20. Dumbass has 9.
Whoo hoo! I've never been so glad to score only 17 points!
I'm annoyed with myself... during the pregame report I heard that Berrian and Winfield were out for MIN and foolishly changed my pick to ARI. Brought me from 17 down to 15. Ugh! Also kicking myself for my 'upset' pick of JAX. (Well, I suppose that pick did upset me)
The sad part, Jax likely would have won without the botched snap when the Jags were driving at the end.

I bet, Zax, if you went back and did some historical analysis, that JAX is the team most incorrectly picked. I swear I get 80% of their games wrong. I'm thinking about going full Costanza on them and picking the opposite of my gut.

KC tends to screw me up, too. They got me this week, as well.

As a Chicago native and an Atlanta resident, it pains me to pick against the Bears and Falcons, especially when they're both playing NFC Central teams. But at this point, I'll take points any way I can get them.

Usually it is posted here as well. I deleted the email by accident so came here looking for it.

Whups.

Well, this week sucked from start to finish. Congrats to Mitma, The Meal and GamerIrv for combining to share their first Top Dog awards of the season. Congratudolences to Teflon Rich for his hat trick of 3 consecutive Dumbass awards. Another set of congratudolences to Orton's Mustache for sneaking back into a tie for 1st with a near-Top Dog week, while Orton himself got demoted.

Pick of the week: NO over CAR. Unanimous and mostly locked.

Oops of the week: Virtual tie between SEA over NYG and OAK over HOU. 2 correct in each case.

Crazy performance of the week: San Francisco demolishing Tampa.

'Saw that coming' of the week: Chicago's O-line sucks, causing Cutler to be under constant pressure.

'Didn't see that coming' of the week: Cutler working through it and having a good game. Also, DET-SF being the game of week 6...

Picks are in. Sort of a dull week on the tubes, excepting the SF/DET & MIN/CHI games. HOU/BAL could be entertaining, and PHI/WAS may be worth rubbernecking...

The predictions of a boring week of football turned out to be true--the top headline from the week is a pair of juvenile coaches unable to comport themselves properly after a game. Oh, well. There's always next week...

This week saw a mass of folks co-earning Top Dog awards. A six-way tie, in fact, between Orton's Mustache (who maintained his 2-point lead on the field), The Meal, Captain Caveman, Mithridates, Monkeyskunk, and Mrs. Jim (who used this to vault above the line). Congrats to you all--now knock it off.

Pick of the week: GB over STL. Unanimous.

Oops of the week: Deadzone's picks? :) 4-9 for the week. There's always next week! On the game front, TB knocking off NO was the most-missed, with only 2 people picking it correctly.

Crazy performance of the week: I'm biased, but I'll go with a tie between a gimped Peppers getting two sacks and Devin Hester with a TD return, a 48-yd TD catch, and another return that might have been a TD had he not slipped.

'Saw that coming' of the week: Bad Rex reared his face in Washington.

'Didn't see that coming' of the week: Drew Brees threw a red zone interception. Has that ever happened before?

Well, I guess I did about as well as could be expected considering my picks for the early games didn't go through (I would've only missed the Det/SF game in that early set. :( ). At least I'm still above the cut-off line....

Just imagine how stupid you would feel had you submitted KC for your pick in the CIN/IND game.

Yes, many of these early games could easily go either way. Even the vegas odds are weak with several 1.5 and 2.5 games favoring road teams.

And yet you achieve *true* top dog status.

As I drift further from the top of the pack, things seem to remain interesting up there. Orton's Mustache retains his lead, and The Meal joins him there, despite both having somewhat pedestrian weeks. 5 participants remain within 3 points of the top spot. It's also awfully crowded around The Line™, with 19 players within +/- 5 points of the cutoff.

Those of you below The Line, don't lose heart; plenty of time to go!

Pick of the week: DAL, GB, and NO were all pretty spot-on.

Oops of the week: BAL over JAX. Whups.

Crazy performance of the week: The Tebow comeback? Or the 54 minutes of Tebow crap that preceded it?

'Saw that coming' of the week: Indianapolis sucking.

'Didn't see that coming' of the week: Indianapolis sucking that much.

I missed big on locking New Orleans. Then again, I'm guessing I'm not alone there.

I also missed big on picking Denver over Detroit. Timmy Time? . . . not so much. Round it out with a misfire on Carolina over Minn., and a pretty ho-hum week for me.

As a Lions fan I am offended that you picked the Broncos. They barely beat a very bad Dolphins team last week and you thought they would beat Detroit. Shame on you. :x

Things got even tighter at the top, with 2 folks tied for 1st, 2 more a point behind, and a fifth one point behind that. The line is pretty crowded, as well. Apologies for the short recap this week.

Side note: Please try to remember to submit your picks in the correct order (at the bottom of each week's recap). It's easy for you, and makes my life easier, too. We had > 12 people submit out of order this week, more than doubling my overall processing time. With a new baby, this is Not Awesome. :) Repeat offenders risk rejected picks. Thanks!

Pick of the week: BAL over ARI. Unanimous.

Oops of the week: WTH, New Orleans? Saint Louis? Really?

Crazy performance of the week: KC's OT win? I didn't see anything else. :o

'Saw that coming' of the week: Indy losing. Again.

'Didn't see that coming' of the week: NO losing and KC winning.

Yeah, that was a stupid pick. I like the Lions this year. Unfortunately, I let fantasy football intrude into my OONFL. I have a strong fantasy team except at the QB spot, and I was starting Tebow. That led me down the regretable path of pulling for Tebow and the Broncos and wanting to line up my OONFL picks similarly. Bad call!

I still don't get the love for Tebow - especially when it comes to fantasy football. He has no quality WRs and isn't even completing 50% of his passes. 35/76 for 412 yards with 13 sacks already. Yuck!

His last 3 games he put up 18,25, and 14 points respectively. So as horrid as he is in real life, he has not been a bad bye week replacement for FF. In fact, I wonder who Denver plays week 11 as Brees has a bye.....

Not tough coming up with games to lock this week, but still some exciting (well, even) matchups to be found on the schedule. I'm guessing DEN@OAK will come down to a major Tebow snafu on the final drive (pick in the endzone) as these games are always wildly entertaining even when appearing to be lopsided matchups.

Will some zero-win team fall behind in the Luck sweepstakes? This could be the week...

If Tebow continues to play like he did last week, Denver will never be in the game. Oakland depends entirely on which Carson Palmer shows up.

Picks sent.

Agreed. But these games never seem to go according to plan.

Dang if The Meal wasn't prophetic. What is Denver running? The triple option or something? Only 21 passes thrown. Only 10 completions. Yet 2 TDs from that. The crazy part - McGahee 163 yards rushing. Tebow at #2 with 117 yards rushing. Heck, Tebow outrushed Michael Bush.

Palmer did throw three INTs which had a large impact on the game. So is Palmer now a bust as a QB??

All picks were sent in in the right order this week. Thanks! It's appreciated.

Moghedian wins congratudolences for winning both the Top Dog (for his Ironman entry) and Dumbass (for his 'true' entry) awards. Nice/horrible job, sir! Mr. Lem has zero Top Dog awards this year, yet he's alone in first place. That's consistency right there, folks.

Don't forget that starting with this week, the first game is on Thursday--get those picks in early!

Pick of the week: DAL over SEA; unanimous.

Oops of the week: Hard to choose. MIA over KC, DEN over OAK, NYG over NE are all in the running.

Crazy performance of the week: Aaron Rodgers has had a > 110 passer rating in every game. Ridiculous.

'Saw that coming' of the week: Indianapolis loses. Again. They take sole possession of the Luck Lottery Lead.

'Didn't see that coming' of the week: Jay Cutler is sacked zero times.

Corrections to week 9 scores must be received by the kickoff of the first week 10 game (which is Thursday night from here on out!). Please verify your scores prior to Sunday's games. Corrections to week 8 scores are closed. The pool spreadsheet is available here for review.

At least I know the Rams are probably going to suck each week. It must be hell if someone is a Chargers fan.

Six people forgot to submit their Thursday pick. Those people are doing better than the fifteen of us who locked the Chargers, and worse than the zero who picked Oakland.

What daemon is forcing me to pick these games this week!?! Ugh, we're going to have results all over the boards after the fOOball gods are done with us today. Eesh.

Week 10 picks are in, though.

What in holy heck happened this week? I might lose my Tebow bet - the bet is if Tebow started at least 8 games, the Broncos wouldn't have a .500 record in those starts.

By pretty much any report out there, Cam Newton's got so much better potential and playmaking ability than Tim Tebow, and yet.....Broncs are winning (albeit ugly) and Panthers are coming up just short. Do we have another coming of Dan Marino and o I dunno who to pick here, some qb who's won a lot but never really showed the talent to do so?
