It's not our fault that you are godless.

My production capacity is 3 tobacco, 2 sugar, 1 indigo, 1 corn, and 1 VP.

Coffee crates in supply: 08
Tobacco crates in supply: 05
Sugar crates in supply: 11
Indigo crates in supply: 10
Corn crates in supply: 3

Moliere - 2 coffee, 1 sugar, and 3 indigo.

Coffee crates in supply: 06
Tobacco crates in supply: 05
Sugar crates in supply: 10
Indigo crates in supply: 7
Corn crates in supply: 3

Me: 3 tobacco, 2 sugar, 1 indigo, 1 corn, and 1 VP.

Coffee crates in supply: 06
Tobacco crates in supply: 02
Sugar crates in supply: 8
Indigo crates in supply: 6
Corn crates in supply: 2

Remus: 4 indigo, 2 corn, 1 sugar, and so +3 doubloons from specialty factory.

Coffee crates in supply: 06
Tobacco crates in supply: 02
Sugar crates in supply: 7
Indigo crates in supply: 2
Corn crates in supply: 0

NickAragua: 3 sugar, 2 coffee and 1 VP (1 corn capacity, but corn is already out by his turn)

Coffee crates in supply: 4
Tobacco crates in supply: 02
Sugar crates in supply: 4
Indigo crates in supply: 2
Corn crates in supply: 0

Vorret: 2 tobacco (3 capacity, but only 2 crates left), 2 indigo, 0 corn (no crates)

Tobacco crates in supply: 0
Sugar crates in supply: 4

Corn crates in supply: 0

Moliere gets to choose between coffee and sugar for his privilege crate. He has elected coffee, so the final crate total is:

Coffee crates in supply: 3
Tobacco crates in supply: 0
Sugar crates in supply: 4
Indigo crates in supply: 0
Corn crates in supply: 0

Remus: 4 indigo, 2 corn, 1 sugar,
Nick: 3 sugar, 3 coffee

I see that is to your benefit since you took my coffee privilege away. I should have 3.

O captain, my captain.

I will load 6 tobacco crates onto boat #7, for 8 VP (6 + privilege + harbor). Boat #7 has one spot remaining. I will also use my royal supplier to ship 1 sugar and 1 indigo for 2 VP (my understanding being that the harbor bonus does not apply to royal supplier shipments).

Remus can then choose between loading 4 indigo or 1 sugar onto boat #6, or 1 corn onto boat #8. I am sure that this decision will keep him up at night.

Buying the harbor was a mistake, incidentally. I should've just bought a royal supplier then and used the money to buy the statue later.

We were told there are fewer than 10 VP's left. Two were used during Craftsman and you just used 10 more here. Does that mean the game is over?

Does he get VPs that phase, or can he not get VPs during the final captain phase because the supply of VP chits ran out during the first player's shipment?
VPs get tallied on paper if the chits run out. Paper tallied chits count exactly the same as actual chits.
Don't worry, you get IOUs this phase.

I swore I just read "more than 40"

1) VPs are still doled out virtually even after the last has claimed.
2) "The game ends at the end of the round, in which at least one of the following
conditions is satisfied"

So there is still a chance to gain victory points through other means if they are available.

It's too bad that the fascist house rules prohibit the villa and the jeweler being in the same game. I could live with getting +9 doubloons every craftsman phase.

Is that all you wish to use the Royal Supplier for? It is only usable before your first shipping turn each Captain phase.

You're allowed to ship up to N goods via Royal Supplier (N <= nobles.count()), as long as each crate is of a different kind. But yeah-- I see where you're coming from.

Yep. Noticed that as well after I had posted and had a chance to double check where folks were at.

I will go ahead and use the Royal Supplier to send off a Corn and a Sugar. I will then load my 4 Indigo onto the remaining boat #6 leaving 2 slots available there.
6 VP total.

With 3 coffee and 3 sugar, poor Nick has no way to ship. Vorret has a choice to make: 1 tobacco or 2 indigo.

I should point out, BTW, that we have run out of VP counters during this Captain phase, so this 15th round is the final one. After we finish Captain, Remus will choose his role & then Nick will choose his role, and then we will calc final scores. So this is the mad dash for VPs!

Good! And by shutting Moliere out of shipping indigo, you've ensured that the rest of Captain is mechanical. So here's how it plays out:

Stockpiles:

Good! In that case, Remus West (via PM to me) chooses Mayor (just in time to populate Vorret's Residence!).

Let's take it as written that all open spots on all boards are now filled, and some folks have extra colonists. Most notably (ISWIDT), Remus has +1 Noble (VP).

Action on NickAragua to finish the game:
  • Builder +1 Vo
  • Captain El
  • Craftsman +1 Mo
  • Mayor Re
  • Prospector +1
  • Prospector
  • Settler
  • Trader

So at this point the way that the game could be impacted by the final choice is either the tie-breaker (if two or more players are tied in VP points, the tie-breaker is which player has the most doubloons + goods on hand) or via the operation of manned special buildings.

From the Captain phase, I will keep the coffee.

For my turn, I will pick the 'trader' phase, selling coffee for 6 (4 + 1 privilege +1 small market).

I'm really not so sure, though I'm glad I got that in to offset at least one of your monster captain rounds. I'd be much better off if I hadn't wasted money on the Harbor and instead picked up a royal garden, but what can you do.

You should also always compete to increase your own standings. Otherwise you get games where people play kingmaker and while it may be a good game theory deterrent it's not really any fun unless you a playing a balance game. Ideally games like this would be set up in multigame tournaments where your standing is tracked.

Vorret can choose to sell tobacco for 4 doubloons.

If Moliere saved sugar then he can sell it.

Then I would sell sugar (if Moliere hasn't) for 4, or indigo (if he has) for 3 doubloons.

Remus has corn but even if there's a spot left in the trade house it doesn't matter because it would yield 0 doubloons.

I'm guessing that whether Moliere saved coffee or sugar probably won't matter (except for unlikely tie-breaker scenarios). Not sure what to do it if does - maybe flip a coin.

That's what learning curves are for.

In your learning game you get to see things like timing of craftsmanning is muy muy muy importante.
