It would be stupid for the actual mist-holder to announce to everyone that he was spraying everyone (as opposed to PM'ing Scoop), for the reason you identify - if he was then alive the next day we would know that he was inhuman.

So presumably he was joking. But who knows, first thing would be to see if we all get sprayed.

We should also consider the upside of spraying everyone, which is getting up to 7 specials (there being 8 special roles coming from the mist, but since we are at 8 humans and at least one person would die or get converted in the spraying, we could get a max of 7), including a seer, rezzer, protector, undertaker, and a free trusted (plus a few other miscellaneous not-as-important results). Of course we could get unlucky and have the best roles (including the rezzer) be among the dead.

To that end actually the worst case scenario (where we get two converts and one death from the spray) doesn't actually put us one miss away from losing as long as the rezzer is among the living. We would be at 5 humans, 3 inhumans, and the rez would put us at 6 humans 3 inhumans. With potentially three trusted (the rezzer, the rezzed, and the auto-trusted). Though again, we could wind up missing one or more of those if they are assigned to dead or soon-to-be dead players.

Mod Question: if a player (let's say theohall) dies, and then everyone gets sprayed, and then the dead player gets rezzed, does he come back with his mist result active, or does he live as he died (powerless)?

Scoop - please find a replacement for me. If not, expect my participation to be minimal to non-existent for the foreseeable future. My apologies to everyone.

Maybe the Inhuman will be nice enough to kill you off tonight and save us from having to recruit a player.

Thats a good question. I would say since they were not alive to get sprayed then they did not evolve so they do not gain any powers or possibly become Inhuman when they come back.

I would disagree. Their body was sprayed, therefore, they should wake up with the powers. But you are the all powerful Oz, so what you say goes.

Yeah. There were arguments against misting everyone (although I find them unconvincing) but I can't see the downside to self-misting.

Unless Theo or BB had the canister?
I also don't understand why someone wouldn't use it...

Does self misting out the person, I don't think it does? I know that the person getting the canister would know either that a dead person had it, or someone was misted.

Anyway, I can get behind  Chaos

Why? No real motivation other than maybe the BB vs Chaos Michigan thing.

IIRC we get a notice that the mist was used, right?

Could be that theo or BB had the mist.

You are correct I did not read the entire sentence.

1. Use the canister on yourself and be transformed with one of the results (see human). When the player is converted the Terrigen Mist canister will be passed to another human player before the next day starts. The Terrigen Mist canister will then be randomly and secretly passed to another human player. The Unspoken One can not use the Terrigen Mist canister on himself or on any one player. If the Terrigent Mist is used this way the moderator will announce "Everyone notices a funny smell. It seems someone has used the Terrigen Mist".

So no one has used it..

Looking at the nighttime boilerplate order on the first page, the mist event happens last. As I understand it, the mist moves to random recipient if

A) a person uses it on themselves (and generates the "Funny smell" flavor text from the mod)
B) a person dies.

If the canister is used on everyone, then they die if their transformed self is good.

SCOOP: Does the can move at death (eg: theohall's lynch would suggest if he had it that it would move) or does it only move during the nighttime event window? Can a recipient choose to immediately use the canister or is that the only window of use (so you need to be holding the mist for minimum of 2 hours?)

As for "no good reason" I think there was enough info given yesterday about how using the canister moves the game closer to failure. Any calls to use it on everyone on day one is an indictment. As for balance? I'm enjoying this game but looking at the night-time power progression, we are screwed (with the conversions).

If or when the Unspoken One possesses the Terrigen Mist canister, he will immediately use it on all the humans which will result in the humans gaining powers (see human section).
If we use it on everyone, then one of us dies (which statistically is a bad thing, since inhuman converts would survive).

Scoop, one more question: If UO converts someone, then pops the canister and the person then transforms, would they gain new powers?

I'll wait for Scoop's official word but my understanding is that a convert acts the same way as a canister use.
That's not an issue until the 4th night though... what sucks is we lost a potential special by not using the canister last night this might bite us in the butt later on (I mean what if the holder is our seer?)

Every day moves us closer to failure simply by the sun rising. If we wanted to get our powers in bulk, Night 1 was the time to do it. It is a successively more risky move each night. Any arguments to the contrary are being made by people who are poor at math.

Until the fourth night, we have one villain (esp. if the gas isn't used).

If UO finds and uses the gas, he gets friends, and we get powers.

If we use it on everyone then we lose someone (assuming not IH) and we get powers.

I'd rather not do his work for him, and less efficiently at that. Individual puffs? Sure.

To be clear, I've corrected the post above:

If UO finds and uses the gas: he gets friends, and we get powers.
If we use it on everyone then: he gets friends, we get powers *and* we lose someone (assuming not IH) .
