Veto Power

If five Fascist Policies are enacted, then the Chancellor gains a veto over the pair of policies provided secretly by the President: rather than have to enact one of them, the Chancellor may-- only with the President's concurrence-- reject them both and do nothing. If this happens, the game proceeds as normal but the count of failed elections increases by 1.
Chaosraven, we can use veto to skip this policy. We both have to agree, and of course I agree to it right now.

I drew F-F-F. (Grund tells me that a reshuffle occurred in the midst of the draw because we got down to 2 cards.) I had no choice but to pass F-F to CR, but the veto cancels it.

Incidentally, if CR and I agree to the veto, that's new information: everyone now has 100% confirmation that we are good (and bb2112 and El G are bad); if either of us were bad, he would decline the veto.
Additionally I can't be Hitler, as that would have been a win

I agree to the Veto

Presuming Grund accepts the Veto, who do you guys like? I think Moliere is Liberal. He should be the next President.

Man, I've got the worst luck with draws. I have drawn F-F-F *twice* in this game. Has anyone else?

Moving forward, the voting is certainly interesting...

[Proven Fascist] bb2112 ABSENT
[Proven Liberal] Chaosraven YES
[Proven Fascist] El Guapo NO
[Proven Liberal] Holman YES
Molière YES
Remus West YES
Scoop20906 NO
stessier YES
Vorret NO

Now it's certainly possible that a Fascist might have voted YES there, just in case the game weren't actually ending. We can't assume that Scoop and Vorret are the remaining bads here.

However... Vorret, if you turn out to be a baddie after all of this, I salute your play. I was ready to trust you.

This is extremely non-kosher. We do not discuss private communications from the moderator.
That said, yes -- a reshuffle occurred. I will neither confirm nor deny what effect it had on the cards, and I will neither confirm nor deny what the cards were.

I wouldn't have to say all that if people would keep my mod-comms private.
Incidentally, if CR and I agree to the veto, that's new information: everyone now has 100% confirmation that we are good (and bb2112 and El G are bad); if either of us were bad, he would decline the veto.
That doesn't follow, does it?

In any event, I'm willing to accept Chaosraven's veto, since apparently he hadn't bothered to read the rules of a game he's playing.

No, I'm not miffed; I'm objectively lamenting the state of our republic, as represented by rules-lawlessness. :)

Grund, I am sorry.

But I assumed that a card shuffle was public info since (a) anyone bothering to count the deck would know it was coming, and (b) in a tabletop game it would of course be completely visible. It just didn't seem like something that could possibly be private info.

I'm not objecting to knowledge of the reshuffle--obviously, since I confirmed it.
I'm objecting to "Grund told me x in a PM".

You weren't around during the early days of Werewolf here, so you get a pass. We learned early on that folks would exploit that information to gain trust... and even quote oddities and anomalies in a mod's PM to confirm authenticity. So we forbade all such meta-discourse.

I see your point.

But the only content I revealed was that a card shuffle occurred when we got down to 2 cards--purely mechanical and publicly visible info. I said nothing about anything you might have said about it.

EDIT: Your reply caught me while typing. Again, I see your point and will respect the strict letter of the law from now on.

Yeah, using the actual term "Villager" versus whatever the flavor of the game was. We ended up having to post the "You are a Human/Normal/Villager" in the text of the game.

We can't assume it, but we're down to our last strike so I'm assuming it. :) You and Chaos can't be part of the next Admin that gets cards. We could go for a flip, but I would prefer we win through positive action rather than random chance.

I would vote for Moliere/Remus. I would also vote for Remus/Moliere - which might be safer as I don't think Moliere is Hitler. Although it really doesn't matter - lose because we elect Hitler or lose because Hitler passes F-F, it doesn't really matter.

The Rules say that you're supposed to say, "I wish to veto this agenda", but I don't see a reason to insist on that language. I prefer

A veto counts as a failed election. Disqualification applies to the last members of a government that enacted legislation. Auto-enactment resets all disqualifications. So we're coasting in a state where nobody is disqualified.
