There is room! With you we have 10, which will work for 8 ISIS and 2 assassins.

Should we go with this, or hold out for more?

i would send a reminder PM to folks who signed up in the other thread and just remind them that this is starting soon and confirm they are in/out.

my two cents...no problems in delaying a few days see if there are a few stragglers who want to jump in.

I guess I would PM a couple people on the usual suspect list (Lassr, Lagom, Grund, Vorret, etc.), to see if they're interested. But I doubt anyone else is coming, so I might just wait a day and then fire it up tomorrow.

Well at this rate I may be able to play but I am in New Orleans all next week so that was why my BSG was delayed until mid June so this game could get in and finished by my return. But if it looks like this game may not start until next week then you can count me in. I just will not be online if it starts next week.

I'm sorry to bump your game up, Lassr. This is my first time organizing, and I was trying to get the rules settled.

If you start this weekend I will not be around to participate until next Saturday. If I end up with a role that has special powers then that could affect the game if orders are needed while I am gone. SO I will play but not sure how it will affect your game (will you start at night or during the day cycle?) etc

Great!

I've got a few PM's out. Replies or not, I'll close recruiting tonight and send out random roles tomorrow morning.

Lassr, I'll include you even though you're not around for the coming week. Will you be accessible this weekend? If you have an important role, we can work out a way to predesignate your choices or something.

Secondly, are you in yet?

We have a game!

We have 10 ISIS agents and 2 assassins. (Conway did not make the cut.)

Randomized player list:

1) Scoop20906
2) Chaosraven
3) Grundbegriff
4) bb2112
5) Moliere
6) Unagi
7) Vorret
8) Newcastle
9) Triggercut
10) Remus West
11) El Guapo
12) RMC

Soon I'll send out PM's with your roles. Please see the thread's first and second posts for specific rules and clarifications.

I also have a question for those who do WW math: with 10 villagers and 2 wolves, does it make sense to start on a Day turn or a Night turn? I assume starting on Night 0 is good, but are there reasons not to?

You need to determine "Majority" when you have even number of players for voting, having an odd number during the day bypasses this. However, games with powers that affect the number during phases causes even player voting (protection/extrakill/conversion/invulnerablity)

Day 0 has No Information.
Night 0 gives those with Night Powers an opportunity to use them, and Day 1 then has Potential Information to work from.

(figure I'll get this in before Remus kills me Night 0)

So if we start with Night 0, we begin the Day with 11 players. One lynch goes into the next Night with 10 players, and then we begin the next Day with 9 players. Since there is protection in the game, though, these numbers can change.

I assume it's usual that a majority means a true majority, right? A tie doesn't lynch?

We'll start with Night 0, although not yet. There are still 8 roles in my outbox.

Incidentally, roles were randomized via Random.org. I didn't pick and choose.

Re: [WW] Danger Zone! (Archer) -- GAME BEGINS

OK, I'm really embarrassed about this, but I just screwed up in a huge way.

I tried to use Slack to set up a private channel for the bad guys in this game. However, because my Slack ID was already set to be part of the group Scoop set up for a previous game, the channel I set was automatically a subset of Scoop's group. This means that the invitations I sent to the bad guys for our game were automatically exposed to Scoop and to bb2112 (my co-baddie in the previous game).

In my defense, Slack's interface and ID structure are really very clumsy and confusing. But it's my fault, and I feel like an idiot.

Anyway, what this means is this: All the roles I sent out this morning are invalid. I'll re-randomize and get new roles in a little while.

No matter who you are (wolf or villager), ignore any and all email received from me prior to noon today (the timestamp of this posting.) You will receive a new role later this afternoon.

(I've deleted messages in my outbox that haven't been picked up.)

I truly apologize.

Did I mention that this was my first time running a game?

My incompetence knows no bounds.

If you still want to be in, you're in. That brings us to 13 players, which means Conway *is* in the game.

I'm revising the lists and starting fresh.

Thanks. It looks like I just have to set up a new "team," not a new "channel." That way it will be visible only to those I invite for this game. (Are teams and channels even part of the same metaphor? What does Slack think it's doing?)

I'll put this in the clarifications post (second post in this thread):

"Lynch votes are final as soon as a true majority is reached. If no true majority is reached by the time limit, plurality counts as majority. If there is a tie at the time limit, no lynch occurs. Time limits will be announced well beforehand, but may vary depending on weekends, holidays, etc."
