If we think RMC is really a normal I don't feel we should use the shot on him. Unagi is giving me the heebie jeebies. Where's Newcastle Unagi truth detector when we need it!

To be honest I am probably biased against RMC because of the last superhero game, insofar as his brilliant red rocket spoof conclusively proved that he is in fact the devil. So RMC claiming normal doesn't really change my comfort level with shooting him, and I do worry that if we keep thrashing about, with our comparatively small pool (minus the two apparent hawkpeople) we're bound to expose our remaining 1 - 2 special(s).

Incidentally, one other weakness with the shot - I am pretty sure that we won't get any information out of it (other than proving stessier and Vorret's respective roles):

DEATH REVEALS: If Both Atom and Batman are in the Game, Hero Special Ability Kills will reveal VILLAIN/NORMAL/HERO. Otherwise Only LYNCHES reveal VILLAIN/NORMAL/HERO.

Assuming that stessier is telling the truth about being contacted by Martian Manhunter (which I don't think there's much reason to doubt at the moment), then it's not possible for both Atom and Manhunter to be in the game (since our roster would be Hawkpeople, MM, and possibly one other special TBD).

So, even if we get the shot right, I don't think we will know it.

Until the stessier reveal, I thought for sure you were a special.

I've been struggling with this all day.

I'm the 4th hero, and the big fucking joke is that I'm Wonder Woman. Har har.

My first scan was on Martian Manhunter.
(The 2nd, a normal)

I can Guarantee that MM is NOT bb2112 and also not Moliere. (stessier can confirm)

I seriously shouldn't say any more than that I don't think. My massive concern is a double kill tonight.

If 'First Night Contact' was bb2112 or Moliere, stessier should maybe intervene , cause I think MM would be dead if FNC was evil.

I'm open to ridicule if I played this wrong, but I honestly thought of coming out with this right after reading stessiers reveal.

Anyhow. I've certainly not been looking forward to this part of the game.

And, if anyone counters me, they are evil.


Regarding my 'Normal' scan:
I'm torn.
If I die tonight I don't want his name lost forever, so I want to name him.
If I name him, it would further help narrow down a 'who is MM' hunt.

I'm open to opinion, but may not take it.

Also, I just want to remind everyone that we're all on our honor system regarding the conversion. I expect anyone who has been converted to do the honorable thing and come forward.

Except unless I'm missing something he shouldn't name him, because:

Martian Manhunter - Martian Manhunter has Telepathy and must contact One Other Player each Night. He may contact the same person on consecutive nights. If either Martian Manhunter or his Contact are killed by the Villains that Night, both will die. If one is protected the protection does not extend to the other.

Also:

Wonder Woman - Each night, Wonder Woman can compel truth regarding the Role of any other Player. If that Player is targeted for attack by the Villains that evening, the attack will fail. Wonder Woman cannot check the same Player twice in the Game.

So if Unagi is telling the truth, a named Martian Manhunter would mean a guaranteed double night kill, since he already scanned / protected MM and this would put us at our hero quota, meaning there's no Flash around.

We could get lucky and MM could contact a villain when killed.

So if Unagi releases his normal and the first night contact of MM steps up, if still alive, and not the same as Unagi, then that could give us a larger voting block. MM would need to stay hidden but his hiding place would have shrunk quite a bit.

Seeing as though I am concerned about even giving out my Normal scan - because I am concerned about exposing MM, I would think it's obvious I'm concerned about exposing MM directly.
However, what you are pointing out is exactly the thing that's been driving me nuts, because I can also give us an additional scan with that 'proof', but 1) nothing I say is proven until I die, and 2) the conversion could mean that MM or one of the two love birds is not worthy of our care, (or me, for that matter). I'm just not really going down that road too far at this point. Either way, there are 2-3 Villains that started the game not as Heroes or Normal, and we should look for them in some manner. (and while RMC was perhaps one, I still sorta fear he wasn't)

So, on balance I just don't like the idea at all of handing them the name of MM; but I so struggled with that opinion. Ultimately I felt this was a good compromise. I like sorta 'half proving' myself to stessier and perhaps MM by stating that I know MM is not the 2 players I've 'presented'. What I don't like is the me 'taking control' part of that.
The alternative is attractive to me, but it's riddled with problems too. That's why I was open to hearing options, but I feel like I've already mulled over many of them. (still listening)

Yes, the fact that I knew MM and knew that I could never protect him is exactly what was behind this statement:
