Due to timing, there can never be a tie. As soon as someone gets voted up to majority all further voting stops and they will be the lynch. If things are close, I will check time stamps to make sure of the order of events if necessary, and it has happened before.
If the deadline comes to pass without a majority vote, day goes into night without a lynch.

I will not be putting the vote tally on this first page. I will put it in the thread at the time I do the tally so the players will see it as the vote count at that point in time. Doing it it in two places is just asking for errors and the resulting confusion. Sort of like posting a wrong unofficial vote tally.
Ok, I'm not posting anymore unofficial vote counts. PLEASE IGNORE MY INABILITY TO COPY AND PASTE CORRECTLY!!!

10 votes for a specific person or 10 votes total?Holman wrote:Did anyone answer Question #2?Punisher wrote:2 Things.
1) Any way to keep the running score on the first page so we dont have to dig for it?
2) what happens in a tie?
There can't be a tie. The lynch is locked in as soon as there's a true majority. (So with 18 players today we'll need 10 votes for a lynch.)
With a lynch today [game time] and a kill tonight, we'll start game-day 2 with 16 players, requiring 9 votes for a lynch.
Of course special abilities and protections can change the tally, so it's not unlikely that we'll start some morning with an odd number of players, but the true-majority rule holds at all times.
we already hit 10 votes total so that cant be it, but 14 people already voted leaving only 4 votes left so noone will be able to hit 10 votes...
I'm so confused...
can we switch to tic tac toe?

10 votes for a specific person. Yes, it will require that some people shift their votes to reach a majority.
The first day (this one) is usually long and frustrating because we have so little to go on. As the bodies pile up, the game becomes one of looking for clues about who pushed for which death, and also of special roles using (or hinting at use of, and others bluffing) their powers.
Other better players can tell you more, but of course YOU ALREADY HAVE IT FROM YOUR EVIL PARTNERS etc.

No tie of majority, but with 18 we could tie at 9-9. So no majority, so no lynch.bb2112 wrote:Due to timing, there can never be a tie. I say switch your punisher vote to elsewhere. Punisher may be a bad guy but let's give him some experience playing and maybe he will come back for more. Let's see where we stand in a few days.

Seriously, it does feel like Lassr and Grund are coming to his aid which seems like trouble to me. With these games it was sink or swim on your own. I'll probably withdraw my vote, but I think it's best to go into Night without a lynch so we can get some data?

Nothing in Punisher's play reads to me as suspicious yet. Either he's genuinely trying to figure out Day One play for the first time or he's performing that attempt well enough that he's giving nothing away. It's a net neutral.
I'm more concerned about the players hanging back and lying low.

Yes, we have less data if there's no lynch.
Punisher kicking up smoke for the Empire would be pretty damn ballsy, but jury's still out. But odds are pretty good he's not the seer.
Time for a few people to speak up.

The voting records and player interactions give you info. Odds are there are evil players on the lynch, which narrows the field. You know if you hit a good or evil player.

Of course, much of that will be interpretation of players.
Depends of the person as to how they behave when under the microscope, what they will do to avoid notice, or whether certain players will behave in certain ways based on alignment within the game.
