Day 3-Town Hall
As the people gather and eye each other with suspicion, Grundbegriff walks up with an empty gas canister. “I found a body burned beyond recognition and this gas canister sitting next to it.” He looks around, “Who is missing?”
“RMC.” Scoop blurts out. “RMC is missing. Those bastards burned him?”

BB voted on RMC right before we lynched him. He knew it wouldn't work, but I wonder why that choice, especially when he then chose to Zerk Zara instead.

It would really suck if both Zara and RMC were Special.

The wolves haven't had enough scans to know whether that could be true, though, have they?

My guess is you chose RMC because you thought it would make Remus look bad and take some pressure off your buddy Unagi.
It's just a guess though, how right am I?

*if* our seer is still alive I think now would be a good time to come out since the wolves probably have a scanner.

With the zerker confirmed dead, we have no fear that a special can be killed immediately during the day. Therefore, there is no need to saying right away. Wouldn't you agree, Grund?

1. I think Unagi is probably a wolf.
2. You are Unagi's "thorn", therefore he should either recruit or kill you. You are still alive.
3. As I said before, I think you are "off" this game.

The one thing you have going for you though is this.
I am not the seer but I did want the wolves to think maybe I was. So I kept up my commentary on you hoping you were in fact a wolf and you guys would kill me because you thought I had scanned you. ...thus protecting the real seer.

Since I am still alive either you didn't take the bait or you are not a wolf. Since we have villagers to spare, I'm willing to find out the hard way.

Interesting. So... we need to starting thinking systematically about what's in the game.

We started with a Seer/Reporter and two other specials.
Possible non-Seer specials include Mortician (know who died), Soldier (Bakhshot), Agent (guardian), Monitor (overvoter), PI (learns roles)

These are selected, not randomized, so thinking about their relative potency seems valuable. With that in mind, we probably have (or had) a Soldier; that seems like a strong role, and it's immune to fakery. We probably also have|had an Agent, also a strong role. Honestly, if either of those were available, would you choose Poll Monitor? PI seems fairly inert, but mortician has some value.

Zerker was definitely in play, and there are three baddies in all. The other two are in roles from this list:
Intimidator (interferes with scans), Manipulator (can force involuntary Scoopage, I guess), Devioid (overvoter, can fake Poll Monitor, as if anyone would choose to be that), Seeker (evil Seer), Prober (checks what they've killed, to ensure safe fakery).

If you were team evil, wouldn't you want a scanner? So Seeker is probably in. Manip and Devi are silly, IMO. Intimidator might not be bad, though you'd have to second-guess whom the Seer will scan. Prober is insurance-- also not bad, but entails lag time.

Hypothetical team Good: Seer-Reporter, Agent-Guardian, Soldier-Hunter
Hypothetical team Evil: Bombardier-Zerker, Seeker, Intimidator-or-Prober

Thoughts?

Why do you say 0-3 Specials? El Guapo came out as Protector and was never countered, and then the Wolves killed him.

Is there any serious reason to think he wasn't what he claimed?

I tend to be strict when characterizing the facts. There have been games in which I, as an unpowered innocent, stepped forward with a wink and a nod to provide lasting cover for a teammate by making a false claim. (Did you think Scoop had originated that play? ;) ) So I leave open the logical possibility that El Guapo was either a simple villager or, in the least likely case, a different special.

What do the odds favor? It's pretty likely that he was exactly what he said he was.

I get it. I just wanted to register the asterisk on that zero.

What do you think are the odds the Wolves have scanned and (or or) have killed more than one Special?

Wow, it's been years since we got some Ole fashion Grundstanding.

So. It's fun to talk about roles but more fun is who BB picked for his team.

I bet he picked a strong team regardless of the attention they would draw. Or at least one vocal strong and one under the radar player.

That leaves me out of both of those groups. Lol

Well, you are strong in your own way in these games.. plus I have you on my safe list along with remus, so there's that...
I just need to decide on which one of you, but we have time and I'm not sure if there is a consensus on the seer outing themselves, so if they do and they scanned you, that will come into play...

Some possible mixes:
Stylistic (three combinations): two forward players, two reticent wallflowers, or one of each.
Thematic: two of his crew, or two of his notorious foes (possibly the same sets of people!), or just one.
Unpredictable: random selection.
Iocane: Selections steering clear of all the above based on private considerations
