Was too dammed hot last night (97, with no AC - though the house stayed under 85). Will try again tonight, but heatwave is still in full power.

Our condo is a downstairs unit, almost always in the shade - fans usually do the trick. Most years, there's only a handful of days where we need AC. That number anecdotally appears to be rising however... multiple day heatwaves are the worst, as the unit doesn't shed the heat too well, so there's a cumulative effect inside.

Turn 30 sent to Ralph.

Pyperkub, I think I found your last city (not counting the one you just took from me; I reclaimed the other one you took).

Can someone explain why when getting a quest I only have the option to take easy quests?

I believe that it depends on the level of the city that the hero is in. E.g., like a village = only easy questions, upgraded town = easy or medium quests, upgraded to fort = quests of any difficulty.

Bingo.

And the level of the city depends on the troops that can be made?

Asking for a friend. What happens to your hero if the city they were teleporting to is burned down before they get there?

Is it instant or does it take a few turns?
Is it also possible the hero arrived just in time to be slaughtered with the rest of the defenders?

No - level of city and troops that can be made are independent. You just click on the production button to buy whatever troop(s) you want to make in a given city. The better ones just cost a lot more to set up and more turns to produce (better being relative to how they defined it).

So how do you upgrade a city’s level and what does upgrading it do?

Ralph-Wiggum wrote: Wed Jun 24, 2020 8:02 pm So how do you upgrade a city’s level and what does upgrading it do?
Hover over a city until you see the hammer and anvil icon. Right click. The middle but for city/building (or something like that) - select that. You can upgrade to level 2 or level 3 (you can upgrade from level 1 to level 3 immediately). Other than the gold to pay for it, there are no requirements.

Upgraded cities provide 2 benefits:
1 - you can take on harder quests:
L1 city - Easy
L2 city - Average
L3 city - Hard (whatever they're called).

2 - FORTIFY defense bonus. Each level of city provides +1 Fortify (L3 city provides +3 Fortify). Like Leadership and Morale, Defense is added to all your units defending the city. It is countered by SIEGE modifiers on the attacker's side.

Unless you need something to sink gold in, probably not your best use of gold on a large number of cities, but if you want to do harder quests, you want a couple upgraded. Also probably not so bad for your best production cities to increase the Fortification bonus of the defenders. Don't want that city you just bought the very expensive uber unit for your side to fall.

EDIT - that's just my $.02 - I have not seen/read any advice one way or the other regarding upgrading cities (mostly, because I haven't looked). Pyperkub would likely be a better source as to the value of upgrading cities.

I think it will take 2 turns (like you had done a new vector to get then out) to return from whence they came. You should be able to look at the vector dialog for the originating city to see when they will arrive. If you don't see them there, check your other cities.

Turn 33 sent to Ralph.

Game actually bugged on me. One stack I deselected and then couldn't reselect. It became an enemy stack to me. Attacked it w/ a single Pegasus, killed 2 units (and the Pegasus), saw 2 Wraiths (which were not part of my stack) during the fight.

When it was over, my 4 survivors returned to my army.

Never saw that before. So long as it doesn't keep happening, not a big deal (just lowered the maintenance bill a little). But wanted to throw that out in case anyone else has issues with it.

Just sent the turn to Archinerd (sorry for the delay!).

A quick question: I clicked on cast a spell, then the spell I wanted to cast before hitting cancel. When I tried to cast the spell again I wasn't allowed to because I didn't have enough mana. It seemed like canceling the spell still used my mana? Is that a bug or intentional?
