They're making a sequel to THAT?

Why? Why oh why would someone want to do that?

When I saw it on the GoGamer list of upcoming releases I thought the same thing. I got a good laugh when I read the description:
Overview
An action-packed follow-up to the phenomenally successful Mortyr.

I guess Daikatana 2 is just around the corner.

Which do you think would be easier, making something that tops Planescape: Torment, or something that is better than Mortyr?

It's just the gaming industry's way of trying to be more like Hollywood. Greenlight the crap and can the quality.

Mortyr 2 was a shocker to me as well. I have no good explanation for this phenomenon.

Hey guys. It wasn't THAT bad.
Slightly less than average, but not BAD.
I suffered through; I mean I played over half the game before moving on to better things, so there.

'Course, I've been trying to justify my spending $34.99 plus overnight shipping ever since I bought it. I also paid $10 on eBay for a (one of 500 made) huge store display box, certain it would be a collector's item. I couldn't believe I was the only bidder. Still have it flattened behind my junkroom door.

I also was an early adopter of Diakatana, and paid $34.99 for that as well. God I'm so pathetic. But really, those games were not total trash. They were worth at least a few bucks each.

And Mortyr had awesome floor reflections. That's all I really remember.

My brother from New Mexico actually called me just a few nights ago, saying he had recently bought a copy of Mortyr for $2, and wondered if I'd play co-op with him. I told him that even if it did support co-op (I didn't feel like finding my box), I'd rather go back and play co-op Delta Force: Land Warrior. Which was at least fun 5 years ago.

No, it was that bad.

In fact, it was even worse than that.

Daikatana was OK.

Mortyr was awful.

Heh. I should post that in the Game Memories Thread over in General Gaming.

"Mortyr had some awesome floor textures. There was this one level where they went from a 4X4 cross pattern of stone tiles to a rug and THEN to an 8X12 patten of stone! I just couldn't believe it. My jaw dropped. I knew I had a quality game right there.

Then I got fed up with it's awful gameplay, nonexistant AI, and wierd weapon aim thing. The End."
