Doom 3 video tweaks?

IIRC there was a thread at GoneGold about some things to do to get Doom 3 to run a little smoother.

Or am I going nuts?

I hear getting a new video card does wonders.

Too good to pass up. I don't remember the thread, but I didn't pay much attention to the D3 ones since I'm one of those who -do- need a new card.

Zekester, what card/proc are you running?

I think I remember the thread to which you are referring, and I think that's how I became aware of this particular tweak guide:

It's pretty good, particularly the "Advanced Tweaking" section.
