Possible fix for Civ IV ATI problem
Try reinstalling DX9.0c. I got the error at first...but after reinstalling DX it ran smooth as silk.

was gonna ask if u did an OS reinstall first. but ya answered in the other thread.
Oddly enough the only game i can think of that uses non-standard DX9 is RTW. Wonder if it's related. At least i recall RTW installin some codecs or some such for DX9.I didn't uninstall DX9.0c first. I just reinstalled it. The game worked after doing that.

I'm on an X800 XT and it's smooth as glass. Anyone having problems, I suggest you try differing levels of AF and FSAA and re-install dx 9.0c out of the dx directory on the install disk. I'm pretty sure the problem is related to that or what Morrowind mentioned above - (sorry just noticed the first post) didn't even read the other posts.Roscoe wrote:Huh, I'm using an X800 Pro and it's running just fine. I'm using the Catalyst 5.9 drivers, btw.IHateMorrowind wrote:X800
--- oh - and make sure you reboot.
