Like many others I've been getting the "memory cannot be read" error in Half-Life 2, where the game just freezes up at seemingly random intervals. I used to play for around 10-15 minutes before crashing, and sometimes as few as 5.
Anyway, I downloaded the Omega Nvidia drivers and they seem to have greatly helped the problem (though not solved it completely). I've been able to play for 1-2 hour stretches with no problems, though by the same token I've also been limiting my quicksaves since some people seem to think the problems is exacerbated by frequent saves.
Figured I'd toss this out there for anybody who may be as frustrated as I was with the bug.
