Battle for Middle Earth

Just browsing tonight and noticed there's a review up on IGN for this one. Overall, it sounds like a pretty mediocre game despite garnering an 8.3 rating. Most telling to me is "very small" number of unit types and "not much strategy to be had". Had a feeling that was gonna be the way of it. Sounds like a great game for people who are often overwhelmed by RTS combat or the depth in other titles... but that makes it a definite pass for me.

Yeah, after reading the Gamespy and IGN reviews I'm really let down.

I'm glad I pre-ordered the game from Amazon when it was selling for $15.99. From the reviews it doesn't sound like I'd be happy paying $50 for it. But it doesn't sound like a total dog so I'm looking forward to giving it a spin.
