Still cant decide on who my Romulan should join...Feds or Klings. I logged in my Klingon on Qo'nos and was totally lost lol. I logged right back out and decided to save hi ma while. Ive been playing the hell out of my Fed captain and am an admirable now so Ive done a lot and learned a lot. I want to play an alt now at times so as not to burn out on my Fed one. Since I know Fed so well now would taking my Romulan to the Klingons be the best so it will be more different?

Love the Fed side. Great ships and great missions.

Really liking the Romulan side with missions but the green color sucks as its hard to see my ship sometimes and the power settings are impossibly to tell which setting they are on,

But my Klingon is flat out dying. Im lvl 22 and still in a BoP. I haven't noticed a ship upgrade waiting on him and in his story missions there a big ass Valdore class kicking my ass over and over and over. I cant progress.

Your Klingon captain is missing something then. Every 10 levels you should get a mission to level up, which you can ignore, sort of. I used to like doing the Fed promotion missions in Earth Spacedock where the guy at the podium would announce your new rank. I don't think those exist anymore.

Regardless you have to go back to Kronos or Earth and get yo'self a new ship from the spacedock dude. It's kind of a pain in the ass to figure out which ships you are eligible for, just go to the ship vendor and filter everything out except ships for your captain's level. Eventually you'll see the ones you can buy with a "ship token".

Kronos is annoying, but that dude is there somewhere. Kapla!

Oh God Ill say Qo'nos sucks. Ugh that planet is badly designed. Im so used to the earth space dock lol.

My Romulan only got the choice of 1 ship at free ship upgrade time. My fed gets to choose from 3.

Guess Ill have to go back and look for my ship lol.

Strangest thing. On my Klingon ship my first officer is dressed in a plain shirt and pants and is pregnant.

Ok my Klingon is now lvl 26 and they are offering me 3 new ships to choose from. Tier 2 ships. Trouble is last time I lvl'd they gave me a tier 3 ship..a K'Tinga battlecruiser. Why would it do that?

Ive returned to STO. Man LOTS of changes and new stuff. Just got back in yesterday and still trying to sort stuff out . Not even playing yet. One of my noob ships was way out in bumbleF so I hit up SOL. Soon as I get there got a fleet invite and joined up. The guy who invited me was in a Enterprise J ship. Its the Feds flag ship. B eau tiful ship. I want one. Someday I hope.

In the pic Im the little Constitution refit near its port nacelle under the usually huge 4 engine cruiser above me. The pic doesn't do it justice with the size and brightness of the engines and such.

Ive been back about 2 weeks I guess. I have only played my low lvl human since returning. Had a bit of strangeness to it all. He was lvl 20 or so when I got back to him and in a cruiser of some sort. I got an Akira and started doing missions and lvl'n. But at lvl 32 and a Galaxy class ship he ran out of missions entirely. I have a higher Klingon and Rom and they both still have missions in the home area. But this guy has had to go to the Bajoran area to pick of random quests at lower lvl. I dont get it. I mean he is OUT of quests. None pending, none when I hail fleet..all done or not available.

Anyways this post is about my poor Klingon. Since I came back he has sat at ship purchase. He had a chit to get a free ship and I CANNOT make a choice between a Vorcha Refit (Im in a normal Vorcha now) ..and a Negh-Var. The only diff I see is the NV has a few more hull points and turns 1 slower. Yet online I see people say Vorcha Refit cause it turns faster. But why advance if you dont get a cooler bigger ship? Im stuck and cant decide lol.

I keep bouncing off of STO. I need to get a chance to really play it at some point.

My only worry with the Negh-Var is a slow turn. My Fed Galaxy turns slow but it does turn. My Rom D'Deridex will not $^$%& turn. Its SO slow that I can not get an enemy back in my forward sights once they move out of it and they stay on my ass . I actually had to get my guild to come help me last year....or earlier this year. I want the NV I just hope it turns...guess Ill get it and see huh. I love the Vorcha...one of my fav Klingon ships..I actually own the toy model of it with lights and sounds lol....but its not a big ship compared to others in game...which may be an advantage in itself.

Don't give up on your Fed guy. He has plenty of missions left. Sometimes the story missions don't hail you, you have to begin them on your own. Open the Hail Starfleet window and choose Episodes. It will show you where you are in all the story campaigns and you can pick up wherever you were at.

You might want to restart now though as a Temporal Agent. Doesn't really change anything except for adding some character and account-wide perks for finding weird stuff on the regular episode arcs (time-related junk you have to scan and figure out some puzzles for, more or less.)

Yeah I powered through them with my new TAgent guy a month or two ago. I hate that season. It's less annoying now somehow, though. I remember vowing the same thing when I did them the first time. Plus you end up with Law, who is a legendary DOFF.

The other mission I hate with the fire of 1000 overloading phasers is the one where you have fly through the giant "abandoned" Romulan space station in your shuttlecraft. Let's add all the shuttlecraft missions to that.

I earned a floor mounted trophy with my Romulan but for the life of me I cant find where they are. They are always in the eating area or crew lounge of the ships. Ive used the one in the Federation and Klingon ships. The mission reward even said its there and I looked up the name. But in my Rom ship...a Ha'Apax ....I cannot find where that is at all. I see no display areas and Ive been all over the entire ship. Going to make the rounds once more to see if I missed it.

Do all ships have a display area for trophy?

If I ever earned a trophy like that I have no memory of that event. I only retreat to my ship to get away from creeps. :D

As for Sectoid's q, one of my dudes is in a fleet. The advantage I noticed the most is that you can earn Fleet credits (and Fleet marks) and buy Fleet versions of a lot of high-tier ships. So if you are cool with grinding multiplayer you can get expensive ships that way instead of spending Zen ($, or turning super grindy dilithium -> Zen).

1. Found out Romulan ships have no trophy displays...at all.

2. Can someone suggest what marks to take as rewards from temporal reward boxes? I have a lot taking up room. They dont require a key to open but I have to choose which type of mark I want and I have no idea what to take. Os there a type better than others or more useful? Im not sure which to take or what to do with them once I get them.

Annoying display settings. If I set it to my native 2560x1080 fullscreen then I cant click anything on screen in game with my mouse. Nothing highlights. Its as if the cursor and the location of the pointer are two different areas. So Im forced to run max windows 17xx X xxxxsomething.

Well the Romulan story in STO is broken for me. Ive made 4 romulan character and each one gets stuck at the first promotion. It all works fine until Im supposed to fly to New Romulus and get a new ship and such. I fly there and cant do anything. Usually when you enter a system a box pops up so you can do whatever you need there. But nothing pops up for me. Ive flown into it from different directions. Ive ran into the planet many times. Ive flown around it. Nothing. Its broken right there. I have a very old romulan character that this didn't happen to and is way past this part. but the new 4 I made all end up stuck here. Ive deleted 3 after playing them this far. Other players tried to help but nothing worked.

EDIT: Looking online it is a common bug . Ill have to come back to it later and try to survive in my newb ship for now.

Ran a mission with Seven of Nine. They made her look like her. So cool. :) Fun mission. She had lots of humor and snarkiness to her lines. The space battle part kicked my ass at least 16 times. My poor Galaxy Class. I was rewarded with her pair of rifle to dual wield so that was cool.

Ive burnt out on STO again. I was about to delete it yesterday and saw the "big new Klingon story continues' stuff. So played it...its 2 maps..TWO maps. Takes me 25 minutes to complete it and get the new weapon . Ive done it with 3 characters. They do that all the time. Tease some new content and it will be 2 maybe 3 maps. Lol. Im done.

Still playing one character. But wow one mission is getting my goat. I ran it and exited and it popped up the completion text from the npc and let me pick my reward but then gave me nothing and offered me the chance to run the mission. The one I just finished. So I ran it again. This time I did it all but one thing right at the end. Just as I hit exit I saw the quest marker not 10 feet from me as I zoned out. %$^$#%. So now Ive got to run it a 3rd time. Why on earth let me exit when its not done!?

Wonder how much this game has changed since the last time I played.

I remember the UI being horribly overloaded with widgets and bing-bongs, and, as usual, once I got to the "end game", there wasn't really anything I enjoyed doing because it was all group quests and raids and multiplayer crap. But I had fun on the way there. Had a Voyager-type ship that was pretty decked out, but obviously couldn't hold a candle to anything that people paid money for.

The thing thats bothering me is npc text boxes and the text size. Seems you can change all kinds of stuff even game chat text font but not the npc box ones. My eyes are awful and hurt. Not playing as much like I did.

Honestly want to do a 5th or 6th play of Mass Effect 123 but waiting on the remasters.

Well Im an inch from deleting this. Ive ran the Nimbus 3 missions many times with other characters. At the end you get a card to call in a pirate fleet for support when you need it. I did with others. But my Klingon cant get the missions to load. I did them all until the 2nd from last and I was never given the mission. I cant pick it up anywhere from the npcs on planet. Fine Ill manually pick it in my list. I picked the 2nd from end and ran it. Got to the end of that one which SHOULD start the final mission to get the fleet card but nothing. The npc hailed me, thanked me for beating those nasty Gorn, but then failed to give me the final part. So I was stuck outside the tower I needed to go in. Ive reran the other missions and it always dies here. Im sick of it. Ive put in a request with the dev team. If they cant get it for me or fix this thing Im done.

This game is buggier now than years ago. Like major bugs that stop play. Months ago it was a romulan mission this time a human. Im supposed to kill some guys and move on....but they dont die. All have zero health but just keep going and going. Ive fought them once for an hour to test it. Support hasn't helped with the standard log out and in . Ive deleted the game, logged out for days, dropped the mission multiple times and took it back. Same bug. Think Ill delete this character and make a new....but theres no guarantee it wont just happen again or with some other part.

You think people who make this game would know some Star Trek stuff. The very beginning tutorial mission has you captain kidnapped onto a cloaked klingon ship. He says target his comlink and fire. They kill him of course and you fire. Ummmm its a cloaked ship...it has no shields up. Maybe lock onto his comlink and beam him back to the ship? DUUuUUh. Come on.

Starfleet General Order 183.68 prohibits blind beaming under duress without specific live biometric confirmations after the USS Jericho incident in which an away team member's voice was simulated, leading to the Jericho beaming a trilithium resin bomb on board, destroying the ship and all crew.

Another thing about is at the start you beam some people onto he ship to save them...turns out no its a Klingon trick and you beam them on board. But transporter stuff from the shows expressly showed that if a weapon is part of the beam its disabled or removed before the person is materialized. Sigh. Also it reads life forms in the beam so it should say "Hey theres Klingons in here, you sure you wanna accept??"

Heh, I've never put much stock on STO for accuracy to the material. From the get-go, the minute they changed hands to Cryptic as developers, it was always going to be Star Trek fit to the formula rather than Star Trek expanding on the formula. It's always going to be about how they can fit the theme to the formula as best as they can, not the other way around.

Trek wasn't always consistent with itself, and the way the tech worked tended to change as the plot required. They beamed the wrong people over - or too many people over - a lot of times. And the biofilters only worked when the plot didn't need something getting through. Plus, as I recall, beaming over a weapon just alerts the transporter operator that a weapon is present and gives them the option to disable it. Had it been an episode, they either would have quietly ignored it, or tossed in a throwaway technobabble line about them reconfiguring the beam transmitter in their disruptors to appear as Federation phasers (or sonic screwdrivers, or whatever.)

Yes, there's that - plus the fact that the term "bring-on" rhymes with "Klingon"; So, it's pretty obvious poetic license is being used here.

Had coem across a mission stopping bug. Worked with support for days while I did other things. Relogged. Reinstalled. Dropped the mission and got back. Nothing worked. At this one spot enemies would refuse to die with zero health and just keep fighting.

Yesterday the CS tells me they have checked into it and that point of that mission has been reported by many other like that. So they sent it to the devs to be looked into. Why didn't they check into it before instead of offering the usual 'fixes' ?

Spoken like someone who’s never worked in customer support.
It's almost as if people are the problem.
