I have one of those free-Half Life 2 cards from a video card

Can I use it to download the game? Mine is from ATI..... but when I go to the site, all they have available for download is that pack of classic Half Life and Counterstrike.

Will I be able to download the game with the code on this card I got with the new video card?

I forget the exact names of the option, but what you need to do is install steam, then find where you enter a cd key for a game you already own, and put it in there.

Install steam. Systray Icon->Browse Games->Register a product I already own...

When I go to the page that my ATI offer directs me to... it says HL2 will be available via STEAM the same day as it is available in stores.

If I go to the link via STEAM that you direct me to.... is the game already available there?

You can put the code in now and the game will preload and be unlocked on the 16th. Its kind of like getting a free preorder. You can also pay $10 to upgrade to the silver package or $40 for the gold.

You should be it in before, because you get the platinum pack for free on steam with an ATI voucher up until the 16th.
