HL2 Steam Pricing

Post by tals »

When I clicked on the buy option in Steam it indicated that tax would be added. Does anyone know if this is the actual case.

Be very interested to hear from any UK guys who have purchased it and know whether this gets added on, on the buying screen does it make it clear how much tax is going to be added?

Speaking as a fellow EU citizen, you'll probably have to pay tax at the height of your sales tax, at least that's what happened to me and some Dutchies I know. It'll show the amount of tax on the last screen before you confirm your purchase on Steam.

There is no tax in the US except for WA. The UK has the standard 17.5% VAT added, I believe.

I hereby apologize to my city and state for complaining about our 8.25% tax rate.

dumb question - sorry....

when you purchase the game over Steam - does it also include the option to have the boxed game shipped too?
Symantec used to have that option - that is why I ask. I am a little hesitant to buy something less tangible than a boxed item.

Nope. You can back up the SteamApps folder after you download it though.
