Why dont cars blow up in New Vegas? Ive shot dozens and nothing.

EDIT: Willow says she will cook for me if she has some gecko meat. And online it says she will cook when ypu have her set up a campfire. Well I gave her the meat and had her start a camp fire...but nothing. She just stands there. Anyone else use her throughout the game?

BTW what are the items marked CASE?

Is anyone reading this thread :) haha.

Yeah, I'm reading it but I'm also sleeping and going to work too. :)

Ammo labeled as CASE, PRIMER, Etc. is components of ammo for crafting. You need a reloading bench to craft various types of ammo you know the recipe for. Some companions are able to do this as well.

I also agree, the game is too easy on normal. That's why I play on Hard/Hardcore mode with J.E. Sawyer's mod - which includes a bunch of tweaks that make the game more difficult. It's not impossible though. At level 27 I can get one shot kills on lightly armored targets if I hit them in the head. Large groups of enemies and some of the big nasty creatures are much tougher and require smart use of stealth, cover and chems to defeat.

Shoot the ENGINE compartment. If it still looks intact, and your shot penetrates, it will go boom like a small nuke. (Don't be too close)

Are you actually AT a camp site? Did you have the right ingredients and such? (I haven't played with Willow that long)
BTW what are the items marked CASE?
Ammo crafting. With amount of scrap metal, primer, and powder (available from Gun Runner's booth and other places) and ammo bench you can craft bullets instead of buying them, and if you're lucky, make special bullets, like hand-loaded, and so on.

Hmmm... not sure about that.

You can sell anything you want. I personally am a teetotaler (both in game and in real life) so I wouldn't know. :) Though the + sign may be ingredients for something else? Or gives you a bottle when you're done?

Speaking of which... real playthrough story. I was playing Barstow, one of the new play zones added through Warzones! mod. I was sneaking about clearing out raiders, and I have a sniper rifle. There's a junk wall with lots of cars and whatnot stacked like 4-5 high. There's a bad guy patrolling there. I was like 1.5 blocks away (rough distance). So I zoomed in, go VATS, and aimed for the head, and fired.

No kill cam. Must have missed, darn it. I was reloading for another shot, when the "truck" behind the guy blew up in a mini-nuke explosion.

Threw the guy 3 stories in the air (there was a 3 story building next to the guy and I swear he went above it), and landed 10 yards BEHIND me, in pieces (of course).

Good stuff. I wonder if you could shoot the stacked cars and have the whole stack go up?

Im thinking the + stuff may be alchemy. I have that as a listing but no idea how to use it. Right now on all other stuff all I can seem to do is break stuff down not make anything yet.

As for Willow and the camp sites I have no idea. Ive not seen a dedicated camp site.

i also replaced the bodies so no more Hindenburg boobs.

Any clue why my screenshots aren't showing up in Steam? I click F12, hear the click sound like always but theres no screenshot viewer up when I go to desktop and if I open it theres just the original 5 or 6 pics I took at the start of the game. It's as if it's saving them somewhere else....or maybe something has it bugged?

EDIT: Ok I am bugged. I found the pics I took but they are not where they should be or something because Steam doesn't see them with my New Vegas game.

Is there some way to set the pic location in Steam? I found them and have no idea where they should be. I cant post new pics in here without fixing it.

Both FNV and Steam have screencap capabilities. I think you have conflicting hotkeys.

I may have asked before but is there no way to gamble in the Vinnie and Vicky casino in Primm? If so how? And if not then is there some real gambling in the Strip or somewhere?

EDIT: Does karma work exactly the same as faction? Like I lose karma with the powder gangers...that means my faction with them drops but only with them?..Its not a game wide stat?

Im thinking it's game wide because I kill one of them and I get good karma..so it must count for something somewhere.

I don't remember 100% but I don't think there is gambling in Primm. There is on the strip though, but I never really found it all that fun. Also beware of the roulette table, it seems to crash my game every single time I try it.

Karma and Reputation are two different things. Reputation is your relationship with each faction. Karma is how good or evil you are. Karma seems to have minimal impact on gameplay, there are a few late game perks that are karma dependent and your npc interactions may vary a bit.

Yeah no gambling in Primm. On the Strip there's roulette, slots, and blackjack. You can make a fair amount of money if you have a good luck score by hitting the maximum winnings and getting banned from each of the casinos.

Actually there is a way to get V&V back up and running. You need to get law back in town and a few weeks later some bandits take up residence in there. Once you kill them and wait a few more weeks the casino is back up and running.

Sure enough:
Spoiler:
In order for the casino to reopen, you must first finish the quest My Kind of Town. A few days after this, you will encounter a New California Republic deserter named Layla in the casino. The casino will reopen for business three days after your interaction with her.
I missed doing that one then.

Im thinking it's game wide because I kill one of them and I get good karma..so it must count for something somewhere.
There are two things: Karma and Reputation.

Reputation is what a specific faction thinks of you, modified by things you've done for or against that faction or its enemies. Do a quest for the NCR and you gain reputation with the NCR.

Karma is a universal measure of 'good' and 'evil'. Think of it as something like a dynamic version of alignment.

There is one overlap: If your karma gets especially high or low (in other words, you have a particularly good or bad reputation), it can change how the various factions feel about you. If you're a hero of the Mojave, for instance, the NCR will treat you with more respect.

Sorry I haven't updated. I still haven't found how to link the screenshots since they are saving into the wrong place.

I've also developed a new annoyance. When I try to start it the loading wheel just spins and spins and the backgrounds cycle through the different posters...but it never loads. I've let it sit for a good 20 minutes once and nothing. So Im forced to ctrl-alt-del. I choose end process and click ok. then a box pops up asking me to close program. But I cant since my mouse pointer is now gone. So another ctrl-alt-del and my pointer is back. Then its try to start it again. I have to do this 5 -8 times before the game will finally start. Then sometimes it will hard lock a couple times. Then after that I can play all night.

VERY angrifying...new word...means makes something angry..I get angry. Sigh. Im trying to start it right now. It just started this the other night. Im worried one night it wont start at all.

Forgot to ad.

I cannot alt tab now..when I do it crashes.

Also sometimes I cant start it with the 4G exe because it says it cant find it. then I have to use the NMM to start it then shut down and I can use the 4G exe fine again.

And Im at the Sarsaparilla factory now. Weeeee.

The world bug fixes like Clean-Deluxe or NVEC may help with the "can't load game" problems. Though often, those are also caused by mods.

I had the exact same issue on the 360 so I don't think this one has anything to do with mods. What seemed to work for me, rather than trying my most recent save over and over, was to drop back and load an older one which for some reason would always work. Then bring up the Load screen and load the most recent one which would then work. It was odd and very frustrating. :?

Very, Very few modded Bethesda Elder Scrolls/Fallout games can survive an alt-tab. Skyrim is the only one I know of.

New Vegas Uncut. They are all well done but beware of Freeside Uncut. It opens up the whole area and you'll likely get some performance issues on a lower end system. I know I do, but the trade off is worth it to me.

DLC adds a lot of quests before the main event at the Hoover Dam. However, a lot of the mods require the DLCs as well, esp. GRA DLC. It's better to get them, esp. when they're on sale.

Finally finished! It only took me 112 hours. If you include all the false starts and tinkering with mods I clocked 320 hours in the game. I still have 3 of 4 DLC's to finish but I don't know that I'll ever go back and do them. I had fun but I'm ready to move on.

After flexing my legs again back out in the Wasteland, I ran into my old "friends": Caesar's Legion. Is there any way to stop the Legendary guys from wandering around? I have to usually fight four of them at a time and get pummeled if I am not on some higher ground or have obstacles to dance around.

Hmmm... no, unless you hack your relations. Either NCR or Legion will declare you a threat. It's not possible to remain neutral in FNV, by end game at least.

With that being said, there are areas that the legion don't go... mostly NCR territories and towns. AND there are certain spots that seem to trigger more Legion "ambushes". You'll need to raise your perception so you can see them earlier.
