Is anyone else finding that when the AI plays de-Stalinization, turn tine increases dramatically? I mean Pride of Nations slow. At first I chalked it up tp the fact that I was playing on an old laptop, but I find it happening on my desktop as well.
I spent 90% of the money I made on women, booze, and drugs. The other 10% I just pissed away.

Just beat the AI for the first time (Turn 4). I had read somewhere that it didn't understand European Control, and other than a too-little-too-late attempt to keep me out of Poland just let me steamroll my way through.
Most of the game was played at Defcon 2 or 3, so it was just a matter os spending influence like a drunken sailor.

I haven't noticed it with that card, but I have seen Socialist Governments take a bit of time to resolve. Are you saying that after that card is played the rest of the turn is slow? I haven't seen that playing on my desktop.tgb wrote:Is anyone else finding that when the AI plays de-Stalinization, turn tine increases dramatically? I mean Pride of Nations slow. When the "opponent thinking" message is up and that swipe goes around the picture of the bear, it goes considerably slower than other cards. Slow enough to make me think the game froze.Archinerd wrote:I haven't noticed it with that card, but I have seen Socialist Governments take a bit of time to resolve. Crunching too many options.

Right. That's a card where it has to decide taking-from as well as placement-to, so there are lots of permutations.

Funny, I keep coming in to read this thread and thinking - I backed this dang thing, where the heck is my key? And then I forget to check. Finally managed to do so and forgot that for some silly reason I backed the PS4 edition. I sent off an email to support asking them if they had any news on that front and they said "PS4 is still coming, it's just going to be awhile longer as we work through the remaining platforms to deliver".
Oh, and here's a Steam key to tide you over.

It's almost as if people are the problem.

I have an iPad 2, and the game seems to run fine. (I've only played a little since I also have the Steam PC version.) The KS backer announcement for the iOS release says that older iPads like mine are not officially supported, but they're still working on it.
If you want to play on an older iPad, you might want to wait for the situation to shake out. If it's mostly fine, I'm sure reviews will tell you.

Just a quick note (which might deserve its own thread later):
I was listening to the podcast "Harold on Games" where Harold Buchanan (designer of GMT's Liberty or Death) interviews Trevor Bender, who is designing the next expansion for Labyrinth.
Bender confirmed that PlayDek is doing a computer version of Labyrinth and that every expansion will eventually be included. He also says that some COIN games will be coming after that, but they haven't decided on the order of doing them.

Any mention of the timeframe? They announced the computer version of Labyrinth some time ago, but I have no idea when it'll become reality. Getting a little bored with TS on my phone...Holman wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 4:22 pm Just a quick note (which might deserve its own thread later):

The podcast was a few months ago, and he talked about seeing Labyrinth around Christmas. Presumably it has been delayed.El Guapo wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 10:46 amAny mention of the timeframe? I assume that GMT's newsletter will be announcing it when it's close (as they did with TS and Fort Sumter), but I don't see anything there.

Re: Twilight Struggle coming to the PC! [and iOS, Android etc]
I will say that the AI in Twilight Struggle is mediocre, and the game probably the buggiest app I have used on my phone (crashes quite a bit), so I suppose there's something to be said for having them take their time.Holman wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 12:18 pmThe podcast was a few months ago, and he talked about seeing Labyrinth around Christmas.
