There is a chance it will only last 30 minutes and not interfere, but the chance is small. I'm sorry. Would another night work for anyone else? I have a teleconference Thursday as well, but Fri or Sat would work.

I have a concert to go to tonite with the better half (Flatlanders). It isn't over until late. Any chance we can do Thursday instead? If not, I can always level my character to wherever you guys leave off.

I'm okay with switching to Thursday for group 2 if we need to. Otherwise we can just forego the week night and try to get some time in on Sat again.

Same here. Thought it looks like Thursday might not be doable either due to the above so that looks like 3 votes for Saturday?

Just wanted to add that I am thoroughly enjoying grouping with you all. I have only one friend that plays games online so getting a gaming foursome together has been nice and something I have wanted to do for awhile. The game really shines with a full group. In other words, you all better stick it out :P

Yeah, Thursday is not going to work real well - I'm going to have to sleep then. I just found out tonight I have

Call 6-7pm
Call 7:30-8:30
Write Experiment - 2 hours at some point
Be in at 11:30 for 3rd shift training
Be in at 7am for experiment

I'm going to be a wreck tomorrow. Ugh.

I am very much into this though - this late night is an aberration. And as of now, I can still make Saturday night if we can get everyone together.

Wednesday night went well for Group 1, killing off the Butcher and finishing Act 1. No one died. The only person who came close was me, leaping onto the Butcher too soon after drinking a pot, leaving me with no healing and no leap cooldown when he took exception to my landing on him and punched me in the throat. Leap cooldown came up just in time and I lept out with just a sliver of health.

I came pretty close once as well....of course as the only range deficient character in the group I am constantly just wading into trouble..

We have the Barbarian leaping over walls and what all to attack
We have Machine Gun Kelly ripping up hordes of monsters
We have the Wiz flinging bolts of death form on far
and then there is me running in mud to get to the fight

Late to the party as usual with my thoughts on Wednesday's adventure. I had a great time and actually got quite a few decent drops. I think I even had 2-3 yellows that I could share with the group.

I too almost died a few times during the Butcher fight including one right at the start where he speared me and brought me to close range so he could pummel me for a bit before getting distracted by someone else. I staggered away just as I was close to being dead. Another hit or two and I would have went down.

I liked the chat...it's just kinda shitty that my headset decides to go out just as we started. I even tried disconnecting and plugging it in again (USB) to no avail. I can't even get any of my computers to recognize that I'm plugging it in so I think it's gone. I'll pick up another one probably tomorrow to make sure I'm ready for our next play time.

Speaking of which, will anyone be available for a possible weekend night run?

Group 1 grabbed Kulle's head last night before we logged off.

I had my first death in this run because:
1) I was too comforted by our combined dps and wasn't paying attention
2) I completely missed my potion button when I reached for it
3) I was paying such little attention that I didn't realize everyone else was chasing after a treasure goblin

Wow - how long do you guys play at a sitting? Are you clearing areas, or just going through the story points? We are just about to head into the Butcher's dungeon. Heck, I just got Kulle's head in SP a day or two ago!

We've been pretty much sticking to 2hrs at at time, except for last wednesday when we went for about 2.5. We are clearing areas for the most part, but we'll occasionally leave a small part uncovered. We're trying to do as many events/dungeons as possible. I think we've all gone through the game at least once, so we can move along pretty quickly.

Hehe, yeah. I can imagine. "where did everybody go?" swarm, die.

I did however drop a stun in the major mob of bad guys before bailing after the goblin, in an attempt to give everyone some time to react. Barb stomps ground, leaps off screen. It's actually hilarious to see a multiplayer game go after a treasure gobo. Like trying to capture a greased pig at a fair.

We do get enough quiver drops for three DH characters...and then some.

Honestly, I think as a team we all work very well together. Especially since we really don't need/want the same gear so the distribution is easy and efficient.

The monk is a better tank than the barb in a lot of situations. The dps on the rapid fire ability is not all that great, but what it does have going for it is that it never stops, whereas the melee classes have travel time between targets, and even the wiz has discrete chunks of damage if they use anything that isn't a beam . With the barb and monk grabbing the majority of aggro, the wiz and dh are able to sit back (most of the time) and just open fire. Since they rarely have to kite like they would in single player (at higher levels) they get to stand and deliver. A ranged class' dream situation.

As a barb, I get the advantage of just diving in into the mobs and getting their attention, knowing that the ranged dudes (and monk) are going to be pouring dps into them and killing them before I get into too much trouble. Every once in awhile I'll bite off more than I can chew, at which point I'll stomp and run. But most of the time I just leap in with the +armour rune, stomp them, then AoE them. You're there AoE'ing and knocking everything back (which is nice and safe for me, keeping the enemy dps off both of us) while the ranged guys just pound the ever living crap out of everything.

I was just thinking on Sunday that it is pretty exciting to see 4 different classes and playstyles synergizing. Even with the multiplayer bonuses the mobs get, it's pretty clearly still way too easy. We'll see how it goes in Nightmare when we get there.

I'm kind of glad we don't have any class duplication. It really makes combat multi-dimensional instead of everyone doing the exact same thing with the same skills and runes.

Group 1 downed Belial last night. We moved at a pretty swift pace but covered a lot of area. We grabbed the achievement for killing Kulle before his helpers - with our dps he was as difficult as a trash mob.

I took a dive during the Belial fight - thought I had avoiding the poison pools down after getting through him on Nightmare, but apparently not...

You guys are moving at quite a clip!

We made it to Act II! :D We finished following the footprints, talked to the Captain, and saved the city.

Good run last night. Everyone picked up 3 levels. Made it to Act II. Got to the outpost.

I felt that things were picking up. We are starting to move a bit faster as people get comfortable. Also, we made an "official" agreement not to do full clears. We are trying to keep moving forward (with the exception of dungeons and events - have to do those). Not worrying about clearing everything helps keep things moving.

Regarding Belial... in my other group we had a couple of deaths on him. Groups add an additional problem that was unexpected. He shoots the poison/creates the pools where you are standing. If everyone is running around, it can cause some people to get trapped by the pools laid down by others. I'm wondering if it's worth trying to all move to one side so that everyone can run in the same direction during that phase. Of course, knowing to get to the right spot before the phase starts could be challenging.

I am good with skipping tonight. I think it is more fun to keep us all together. Besides, I am close to finishing Act 3 (I think) and will be happy to do that instead. :)
