I decided that my wizard was only going to use wands/sources so I wound up using the same pea shooter white wand from the start of the game until a blue one finally dropped from the Skeleton King

Yep, I'm going to automatically start dropping any gear specific to a class. I was pretty much doing that last night but it wasn't a conscious decision. Will do so moving forward.

I was getting lucky as we went along and my weapons were upgrading the whole time. Leoric coughed up 2 good weapons but I replaced one of them shortly after anyway.

I'm struggling to remember where we stopped. Right after the first sword shard, I think. We're all level 10/11.

It would be cool if you could put a sticky on the screen showing what everyone's current weapon dps was so you could know when to drop things for people.

I felt a little bad for our sole melee. Three ranged must make it hard for him to get a hit in sometimes. :D

He does look a little like a zombified Right Said Fred.
- He left out that his character looks a bit creepy. All hunched and spastic. But at least we don't have any females in the group. The rest of us are able to tolerate his creepy advances. And his "need" to strut his pasty, hairless chest around. :D

I did notice that my Wizard does a fist pump every time he casts one of his spells. It was a bit odd...

I ended up using a character that I'd built as a mule. I had his bag half full of items. That caused a bit of trouble, but not too much. And it meant that I had a couple Rares in my bags/bank that I was able to give him. I've actually gotten rid of a lot of my lower Rares to make room, so I didn't have much.

Oh, and did Group 2 want to see about getting together Saturday or Sunday?

I can likely make Saturday. The kids stay up a bit later on the weekends, so I might be upto 15 minutes late. Sunday would not be preferred, but is doable if that works best for everyone else.

Yeah, that would help. You can view everyone's equipment and stuff but it's not convenient or fast enough given the game's pace. I'm going to sell anything that isn't a) for a specific class and b) doesn't jump out at me as something potentially worthwhile.

Average stuff is going to get sold without hesitation. More average stuff will drop in just another moment of combat anyway.

I started to worry about knockback a bit but then decided it wasn't worth worrying about. With 2 ranged and 2 melee, there were plenty of bad guys to knock about for everyone in our group.

I am not the least bit put off. I was engaged in a large segment of the takedowns- in fact, I was feeling bad the ranged weren't getting enough hits.

Sat or Sun eve works for me - I can usually go from 7CST to about 9:30PM, any segment of that time.

True. During those few times where there were swarms of mobs, then everyone got their fill.

But when running around and bumping into the groups of 2 or 3, I don't think our monk got much of a workout.

Hmmm...not my experience at all. In fact, I wondered if the ranged were feeling a bit annoyed. I was in a large share of the takedowns..unless you didn't notice the kick lash..

I don't think my DH was pulling his weight. I didn't even learn about holding the Shift key to stand in place and fire until about half way through. I hope to play a bit each night (with another character of course) so that I'm not holding us back too much for the next go around. :)

It seemed we all had our share of killing. I was just having fun running around spitting fire bats and trying my best not to get hit. Who's idea was it to have me tank the Blacksmith's Wife?....Trying to kill me? To bad I was too sexy for my shirt and she couldn't stand it. 8-) Well that and somebody else taking aggro...

stessier I think you did just fine and forgot it was your first time playing.

I'm up for Saturday night as well. Anytime after 9 pm est to whenever.

I believe it was your idea. :D

At least in-so-much as I suggested that you do it because you wanted the achievement, and I already have it.

But then, I was totally surprised by your approach. And Eliot's. I usually burn her down to nearly dead and then run away, kiting her until he kills her. The stand there and take it approach was new to me. Also, I was surprised how much health she had. 4 players definitely ramps up the health on some mobs. Initially I'd figured you'd have no problems. When I saw your health dropping so fast, and her's barely moving, I figured the rest of us better help for a bit. You were hitting her at the beginning, right?

I may have missed some of the time zones involved, but we could shoot for 7pm-ish Sat, Mountain Time. Looks like we'd only have about an hour or so of play, but that's fine.

I'll plan on being on at 7:00pm MT/8:00pm CT/9:00pm ET. We can start playing any time we get everyone on board.

Eliot is out at 9:30pm CT. So we will shoot for that as our end time: 8:30pm MT/9:30pm CT/10:30pm ET.

That should get us 1-1.5 hours of play.

Yep, her massive amounts of health threw me off for sure, but I had made up my mind to tank her so dammit I was going to tank her! You are right I was more tickling then hitting her. Surprisingly, that was just as effective at holding aggro as trying to actually kill her.

I'll be ready by 9pm est. I'll try and get teamspeak set up tonight if we are still going that route. Though, I am not %100 my mic works anymore as my three year old has been messing with it lately.

I have to see if I can locate my headset as well. How do you guys feel about being rares at AH versus the organic 'swap' among team members whatever we find along the way method? Do we go purist (no purchases) or just invest in what we need/want?

For Group One, we haven't discussed playing this weekend and we have a firm date set for next Wednesday, but I still thought I'd float the possibility of playing tomorrow night at the same time. 9-11 EST.

If there is interest from everyone we can set it up. Otherwise we can definitely wait until next week. Tonight and Sunday night aren't great for me this week.

I'm not really inclined either way but I would say with swapping of the really good items we should be well equipped for some time.

@morlac, regarding "I'll try and get teamspeak set up tonight", we are using the OO Ventrilo server, not TeamSpeak.

@EliotR, regarding gear... I'm really okay with whatever. Personally, I don't feel the need to make this any kind of "hardcore". I'm already using gear that I had laying around. I doubt that I'll bother with dropping gold on the AH, but I'm okay with anyone that wants to. I don't think that we are going to have any trouble with Normal mode; so I don't think we need to bother with trying to get the best gear we can. If we make it to later difficulties, then we might need to revisit. But for now I say do whatever you want. I'll probably share Blues but keep Rares. And I will likely use any Rares that I have in the bank from playing my other toons.

I just got back into town and had a few things to say after our first group on Wednesday.

First, it was a lot of fun and just seemed to be filled with multi-player goodness. I liked how we basically just dropped different items when we thought someone else could use them. Unfortunately, most of my drops seemed to be shields which weren't much use to anyone. Thanks for all the bows and crossbows you guys fed my way. It made it feel like I was starting to contribute my fair share of DPS after awhile. Well, that and my machine gun skill. ;) There were a few fights that got a little hairy, but really nothing we couldn't handle. Besides, those kind of fights just keep you from becoming too cocky.

We need get some sort of chat mechanism working before our next Wednesday meeting. The interface and heavy action really isn't conducive to conversation, or even something as simple as typing out a quick SOS.

As of now, I'm open for any night this week if we have a chance to get together.

Good session - group 2 last night. I am used to playing my main with poison resist and forgot not to run in - wow, quick if you are not careful. So far everything has been easy. I have not co-oped past Act I so don't kow if it rolls this way through Normal?

Hope to stay on a bit later next time.

Sorry for the child related interruptions last night. The youngest is potty training and multiple days without actually going makes for a really grumpy kid.

I'm playing through in SP mode and found a couple other instances in the fields that we didn't see last night - there was a Curio Shop, a haunted dwelling, and something else. Did we miss those or are they just randomly there sometimes and not others?

@stessier, it's random. It seems like there are half a dozen or so possible randoms in each area. You will only get about three each time you play the area. It's kind of nice because it means that things can still seem fresh after multiple play-throughs.

I've got a problem with this Wednesday - I have to host a teleconference from 7:30-8:30 Central (we start at 8 Central). There is a chance it will only last 30 minutes and not interfere, but the chance is small. I'm sorry. Would another night work for anyone else? I have a teleconference Thursday as well, but Fri or Sat would work.

I have a concert to go to tonite with the better half (Flatlanders). It isn't over until late. Any chance we can do Thursday instead? If not, I can always level my character to wherever you guys leave off.

I just finished NM - interested to see how the gold drops are in Act III, IV of Hell

Yep. Post your Steam nicks if you want voice chat tonight. I'll post mine when I get home, can't remember what it is exactly.

We can go with either the OO vent or Teamspeak servers, but Steam has worked fine before and I'm betting everyone already has it installed.

I have a teleconference Thursday as well, but Fri or Sat would work.

I have a concert to go to tonite with the better half (Flatlanders). It isn't over until late. Any chance we can do Thursday instead? If not, I can always level my character to wherever you guys leave off.

I'm okay with switching to Thursday for group 2 if we need to. Otherwise we can just forego the week night and try to get some time in on Sat again.

Yep. Post your Steam nicks if you want voice chat tonight. I'll post mine when I get home, can't remember what it is exactly.

We can go with either the OO vent or Teamspeak servers, but Steam has worked fine before and I'm betting everyone already has it installed.

Mine is "teggygah".

I know GreenGoo is on my friends list, don't think the others are.

I also already have the TS client set up from playing GW, so it's easy to use that as well.

Same here. Thought it looks like Thursday might not be doable either due to the above so that looks like 3 votes for Saturday?

Just wanted to add that I am thoroughly enjoying grouping with you all. I have only one friend that plays games online so getting a gaming foursome together has been nice and something I have wanted to do for awhile. The game really shines with a full group. In other words, you all better stick it out :P

Ok, I've got Debris and Teggy on my Steam friends list. Anyone heard from Jaddison?

My tag is [OO] GreenGoo

on steam.

I'll be fully free to play around 9pm EST. If I get lucky I will be available earlier, but can't guarantee.
