It's one for the few games I've seen for a while that I'm feeling that I might buy Day 1.

I really want this to be good. I was reading about the delay and it sounds like they addressed lots of issues that were occurring.

I agree. This sounds like a really need idea and I hope the execution comes out well.

Liking the Max Payne vibe. Pretty sure I saw some 'bullet time' in the first video.

Need some opinions from hardware guys.

I've decided I want to play Watch Dogs at Ultra so I've been looking for new PC Gaming builds online and I've settled on this one. I'd just like to get opinions on if this is a both a good build and if it is future proofed for upgrades for the next 3 to 4 years. I am sort of concerned about the motherboard/CPU combo. Please understand that 95% of the numbers are voodoo to me and I cobbled this build together from what other people have written on the internet.

https://pcpartpicker.com/user/scoop20906/saved/

I'd love opinions but I want to order the parts soon so I can have the PC build by the time the game comes out.

THANKS!

My 2 cents would be to get an i5 rather than an i7 and take the savings and also buy an ssd dive to be your OS/apps drive. Your computer will sing!!

I hadn't thought about buying an SSD but that makes sense. Let me look into this.

I was big on this game and then some of the terrible looking previews, along with the anyone-can-jump-into-your-game can't be turned off MP and a general lack of time put me off this. Any good deals left for this?

I'll wait and see how it is implemented. If it is designed so that strangers can troll and grief my single player game, it will be turned off.

I think the grieving isn't that bad. Someone can jump in your game but then it seems they must hide as you try to track them down. I think if you don't find them or ignore then the worst that can happen is they steak some of your cash and maybe your MP rank drops. And it can be turned off too. I don't see it as a deal breaker.

So, watch dogs seems to have a moral component to it. In these types of games I can never bring myself to be a douche but I've always wanted to try it. Given the antihero nature of the main character I'm wondering if I'll be able to do it this time and enjoy it.

Steal from people's bank accounts, Ignore crimes in progress, and overall just enrich myself at others expense.

Anyone else considering playing that way?

If you managed to get logged in once and activated it you can play in offline mode, but yeah, Ubisoft failed to take into account the flood of activiations AGAIN and uplay has crashed. I was lucky in that I started playing before 8am this morning so when uplay went down I just switched to offline mode and continued playing. Pretty much Assassin's Creed mets GTA

Uplay is a POS. Should have expected this. Even worse the rror they give me "There must be something wrong with your internet connection"..ya right..asshats.

Uplay? More like Uplay if you are lucky enough to get around all the technical hurdles we throw at you.

Re: Watch Dogs

It's a generic connection error message...everyone does it. Yes, every big launch (or even a big sale on a uplay game on Steam) seems to crash uplay. You would have thought they would have fixed that by now. Part of me half suspects, given how much uplay is hated, that a game about hacking launched on uplay might have attracted some hacker attention and that's the cause, but I think it's just poor planning on their part. I know it doesn't help, but I'm having fun with the game right now and you probably will too once they fix the server.

Too be fair, the main time uplay is an issue is launch day. I had been playing Child of Light on uplay for weeks now without any issues, but someone there at ubisoft didn't think to add more server capacity when they were launching such an anticipated game. As I've mentioned in other uplay threads, once I get a game authenticated with uplay I pretty much just set uplay to offline mode...that's actually what I have uplay set to by default in the uplay settings
