Oh, I was expecting that I could use the beta client. It updated like it was going to work this weekend.

Even if I have to d/l I'll start as soon as I get home. Have a pretty fat bandwidth so still should be able to play tonight.

The beta client might work. I'm not sure. I uninstalled because I wasn't interested.... then I bought it.

I used the beta client.....BUT...if you have a real old beta client they suggest a fresh install.

Leveling up tradeskills early on seems prohibitively expensive (referring to non-gathering ones of course). So tread with care.

Oh, another annoyance... This game takes a step backwards when it comes to collecting objects for quests. Have had quite a few instances of clearing out a pack of mobs guarding quest objectives just to have someone sprint in and take it before I am done finishing them off.

I'm not sure if the client launches the 64bit version of the game on its own, but you can make a shortcut directly to it and launch it from there.

I think it's worth me mentioning:

Day 4 of ESO featured the utter domination of chat channels by gold farming spammers. You also started noticing farmers surrounding mobs in the game world.

Day 4 of soft launch of Wildstar: I don't recall seeing a single gold spam in chat yet.

Got it...ty!

EDIT: Any idea how to fix a borked install? I wasn't paying attention when I started the install and it started putting it on my C drive. I need it on my E drive. I ctrl-alt-del it and deleted all wildstar stuff I can find..even redownloaded the installer...but every time I start it it starts continuing with the C drive install at 1%...I just cant find anything else to delete and have it start a brand new install.

EDIT2: Got it...had to run my registry cleaner.

I made a granite guy warrior. They seemed the most dwarven. I traditionally play short races so I'm going with he's a really tall dwarf.

He made it to 6 and went off to a BG. Anyplace he can be in range to hit anyone else is pretty much always red. This sea of red on the ground doesn't tell me much. Is there a way to filter what shows up on the ground so you can have it show only the scary stuff?

I got an invite from a gold farmer, but I did not even know about it until I noticed a small number on my social tab. Easy to ignore, no spamming.

I am absolutely loving this game. It is capturing something about the classic early days of WoW. WoW was the only MMORPG that I could actually play consistently, and I got my character up to max level (well, max before Pandaran, which I did not play). I foresee sticking with WS much longer than any of the other more recent contenders.

Thanks to coop I got a free 7 days code. Logging in now on Warbringer to give her a whirl.

Was wondering if no one else grabs a code for US and there is a spare could I get one for my friend who p[lays MMOs with me....we been playing since `1994 and I think he would like it if he gave it a go.

Thanks.

BTW how many characters per server is it? I like to make one of everything.

Also the PVP server...is that server wide open PVP now matter your lvl?

Dude.... you just summarized how I feel. This game has the 'magic'. First time since the years of lore when WoW launched and everyone was blown away.....

Another silly question...why cant I rebind my JUMP key to shift? It seems stuck on the space key..which is silly cause all other games allow me to rebind to shift...forever. I use shift to jump and num 0 on the pad for sprint...it will let me set sprint but not jump.

Ditto. It has the "first time" feel of vanilla WoW with the BC xpac approach to content. I'm loving the way they're going about raids with the attunements http://imgur.com/NaNBVbE ....I was trying to explain to an old WoW guildie why he should try WS out. He's going to test drive one of my free keys over the next couple of days.

Daehawk....I wish I could help you out but still waiting to hear back from an old guildie.

My engineer is level 18 now. I must say the difficulty of standard questing has ramped up considerable over the last two levels. I know carbine's design for the engineer is having an impact (they said that because the engineer is a tank class/wears heavy armor that their DPS will be lower than a pure DPS class of same level), but not sure how much of an impact it has at these lower levels.

How are you others able to handle "2" mobs (not sure what the official name of that class of mob is, but the ones with the triangle to the left of their nameplate with "2" in it)? I assumed, based on my difficulty killing them that the 2 means you really should attack it with 2 players. Depending on their abilities, I would say i have a 50% success rate with them atm, maybe lower. Thats burning all cooldowns and healing potion, along with usually being buffed up from setter stuff. If I get an add while working on one? Usually it is time to run unless its almost dead. The quest areas seem to be getting more and more congested, with more patrols, and more of these "2" mobs around, making it much more difficult to get stuff done than just a few levels ago.

That's easy. I stay far far away from them. If you look at their health, they usually have 3-4 times the health of the normal mob and hit like a truck. I don't think they are soloable at all at the level you encounter them and the 2 probably means the suggested group size. I did a world boss at level 10 that had a "20". I think they are just sprinkled throughout the game to give people questing together something more challenging to kill or maybe to encourage temporary groups. I really like that they added them to mix it up.
