It's a great idea to do this.

I'm very excited about the mods as the main thing, I've had my fill of straight up shooters.

There also hasn't been a good mod platform game in a long time. The last one being Half-Life 2, although UT3 came out, it didn't hold anyone's interest enough to develop a decent mod community.

Although there's free to use engines out there for a while now, mods are easier to develop since there's a lot of stuff pre-made.

I loaded up and played single-player for about 15 minutes last night just to see if it would run without any problems. The game ran great, but boy do I suck after more than five years away from PC shooters...

HERE is someone playing the new free Unreal. Theres also a link to grab it in the description. Surprised at just how fast it installed. Games were so much smaller in the day.
