Fantastic teaser! I wish Blizzard would just hurry up and start making feature films already.

Loved the easter egg for Hearthstone!

Yeah, they could seriously compete with Pixar , they have the funds to do it.

Gameplay Trailer

There's also a beta sign-up.

How in the holy hell did they manage to keep this a secret this far along in development? They've got one hell of an internal NDA.

Blizzard presents Pixar's G.I. Joe Fortress 2 - the anime.

Yes, I want to play it.

Whoa. It's like an amped up version of TF2. If they put hats in this, it could be a winner. Regardless, kudos to the art team - it looks really sharp.

You know, this is the last major genre where Blizzard didn't have a huge piece of the competitive online market.

The video game wars are over. Now all video games are Taco Bell.

Lol Blackhawk.

that trailer was amazing. It evoked a great feeling the way it was set in the futuristic museum and such with the exhibits. Loved it. Have no idea about the game lol. Ill sign up though.

Ive said for many years that Blizzard should make movies. They really rock at them. Id pay to see about anything they did.

But now we can pester the hell outta Tiny Ogre. I assume this is what he's been working on, all secret-like.

I never played TF2, so *if* I were to play this, it would be an almost brand new experience for me. We'll see. I'm interested to see how it turns out, but it would be too much to say I'm excited about it.

Also, I've always assumed they outsourced their cut scenes to a shop more dedicated to that sort of thing.

If it just a team based shooter I am not interested.

Cool movie though.

According to Kotaku:

Overwatch is a reworked version of the PVP portions of Blizzard's Titan, the long-in-development MMO that was overhauled in mid-2013. Despite reports earlier this year that Titan had been cancelled, the game actually morphed into Overwatch last year, according to a person familiar with the project.

No interest. Didn't even get through the trailer. But then, I wouldn't be the audience for this type of game.

The trailer looks cool but since I despise all PvP, I have no interest in playing a "team vs. team" objective-driven FPS.

Uh...no. It's all internal.

Can confirm. Every Blizzard cinematic ever has been made internally. The cinematics department is THE BEST, and in my biased opinion they really killed it with this one. So glad you guys finally get to see it.

As for what I'm doing these days, it would certainly be easy to tell you that, "Yes, I have worked on Overwatch." So I'll just leave it at that.

Shrug. Ok.

I finally got a chance to watch the videos, and it definitely has a fps moba feel to it. Maybe that's what TF2 is, I've never played it (son has though). I've played a fair bit of Dota2 and LoL though. There is also a first person shooter moba game that uses gods from various real world mythos as the characters.

I think it looks good and high quality, but I'm not sure I'm interested in a fps battle arena game, but I'm sure it will be wildly popular as seems to be the norm for Blizzard games.

I will say that there's nothing people like more in a fps than to be 1 shotted by an unseen opponent, particularly in an objective based game, so that should make for some fun forums.

Looks like an amazing evolution of TF. I can't help but wonder if in some ways it's happily a dig at Valve for monopolizing on DOTA. The logo reminds me of Half Life, too.

I believe Gearbox is working on a shooter-MOBA as well (although theirs is, I think, third person.)

TF2 is the only competitive shooter I play, and even though I'm pretty awful, I still have loads of fun. Overwatch looks like it will be the same way.

Same here. I like my fps team games to be a bit slower so I love the speed of TF2.

Immediately upon seeing the brief snippet of actual gameplay I thought...

TF2 + Borderlands + League of Legends + City of Heroes.

All the above printed money. So, mash 'em together.

With Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm out, and the marketplace what it is, I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that this is free-to-play.

Definitely saddened by what could have been in terms of a space-oriented MMO based around the art direction in Overwatch. :( :( :( . Oh well, I guess I will take my years and years of $15 a month I would have spent on it and put it towards another game down the line.

I would have preferred a space based shooter mmo too, but not in the overwatch art style (which is great, just not want I personally want in my next mmo).

I'd definitely be curious to see where Blizzard would take a next-gen MMO, after having led the market for so long.

I'm just still salivating for Heroes, after doing the same till I finally got into the Hearthstone beta a year ago. The crazy thing is, I'm still playing Hearthstone almost daily. I don't even like MOBAs... I've actually never played one. I downloaded the Dawngate beta to potentially be my introduction to the genre in the absence of Heroes, but seems pointless to fire it up since EA announced it's to be shut down in 90 days.

I think we've already seen they would take it to the trash can. Even Blizzard can't dethrone WoW.

I'm hoping to get in on Overwatch fairly early (IE - not wait until it is $20, which for Blizzard means 2032.) I haven't had an active multiplayer game in several years, and I miss it.

I'm already in, did we have a player list?

My staples are Reinhart, Bastion, Winston, and Mercy. Basically characters that require less perfect aim, but reward good play otherwise. I've been working back up to the high aim characters. But I like the fact that there's more options for high skill players that don't focus on the single aspect of twitch and aiming, although good aim and twitch reflexes still helps.

However, I've been having a lot of fun as Tracer and love that style of high risk high reward play. I really want to play Genji similarly, but just can't pull it off.
