Nope. There is plenty to do without the DLC. Though some more variety would be nice.

I picked up the DLC anyway.

I also gifted the Collector's Edition to a friend of mine so I'll see if I can get him to join us on days that somebody can't make it.

Which dlc did you pick up?

Also, I can't play this Thursday.

Finally! Nightmare Engines of War goes down with bots. Whew. Got "lucky" this time; the ogre never showed up. Avoided 2 patrols. Downed 29 specials and 26 stormvermin.

Failed Nightmare Supply and Demand. First time got wiped out by a patrol that turned down the alley I was hiding in. :( Second time got hit by the same patrol but managed to actually kill them all; only lost the Waywatcher. But lost when the ogre showed up. The biggest problem with the bots is that they will focus 100% on specials. So while they focused on the ogre, a small horde of rats wiped them out ... 1... 2... 3... :grund:

FYI (really for Brian), there is a key contract today for Nightmare Ramparts. Since we do that one anyway, probably worth logging in to grab that contract. I'll probably do it anyway, but it's still a likely one to run on Thursday. And those of us that finish it early won't mind running it again.

That's the secret to it. There is a lot to do, but since the endgame is going back over content, you'll get to a point where you have seen everything multiple times. At that point the extra missions become much, much more appealing just for the variety (and so that all of the missions are available.)

I may try to pick up one of the DLC this month, but we'll see.

I picked up Drachenfels and Karak Azgaraz.

Maybe I can get Doug to install it and play with us on Thursday.
Probably not as he's moving into his new house this week so his already limited availability will be severely curtailed while they setup home.

There are a couple of quests today that give out buffs, one damage, one defense. They're worth grabbing now to run tomorrow.

No. Never. That is painful to watch/listen to. :D

For one, we were smart enough not to run Hard with white weapons.

For two, at least we usually hit what we aim at. Seriously, the person playing the Waywatcher couldn't seem to hit a damn thing.

Last night was interesting. We got off to a really rocky start, but by the end we were really kicking some ass. It was frustrating, but it was a lot of fun. I will say this - you get a better by doing the hard stuff. Even if it takes four tries!

You'd think all of those fireballs that 'accidentally' got too close would have taken care of that...

Got another few waves of Town Meeting done. Sheesh... the bots really suck at it. I don't think they coded their AI for those maps very well.

Eight friggin' keys to unlock a helmet that serves no actual purpose and conveys no bonuses?

Eight?

Fine. Not like I'm doing anything with these keys anyway.

Of course, now you know the orange or red Handgun is going to show up.

True. But on the bright side, you are just about ready to make one anyway. So you might not end up losing much time over all. :D

Clearly the helmets are to give people a reason to keep playing once they have all orange/red weapons and trinkets. They provide a reason to keep doing contracts.

Orange handgun achieved. Unfortunately, I have no blues left to unlock the bonuses.

However, it did roll with the traits I wanted so I won't have to spend anything to respec it once I unlock all the traits.

One word about running the Chain of Fire map with bots, when it comes time to jump the gap.... let 'em fall. I went back to pick up the dwarf who missed the jump, then after reviving him he missed the jump again and while I was trying to pull him back up the other two bots came back and also missed the jump. So there I am with three bots all hanging off the edge and me trying to pull the dwarf back up when WHAM!! Hook Rat grabs me and game over.

Worse part was I managed to grab both Tomes and ended up running the map twice more since I couldn't get them to grab Tome on my next run and I needed two Tomes to get the key.

Anyway, tomorrow will be all about getting blues for me.

Nightmare runs of Ramparts it is. :)

And congratulations!

Oh... and I've decided that I definitely prefer the crossbow to the handgun. While it may just be circumstantial, I shot a stormvermin on Ramparts, and all the ones around it activated and charged. With the crossbow, I rarely get more than one. And then only a second one. I wish there was better info on their reaction to sound.

I routinely stand on the sniper perch and take them down one at a time with my fireball staff's primary fire, and almost never pull them. It has to be the sound that is setting them off, as they don't flinch for me.

I'm out as well for tonight.

I wrapped up putting the new hardwood flooring down in the computer room but I still have to clean up and then move all of the furniture back in and that includes my computer desk and PC. I'm already exhausted and by the time I get everything back in and setup I'm sure I'll be completely knackered.

It looks....ok. There's a reason I'm not a general contractor.

There are a couple of small gaps where the planks aren't perfectly aligned. Naturally I scraped and gouged the new flooring moving the bookshelves back in so I'm going to have to get some wood putty and touch up paint/stain to try to hide that.

What I really need is the number for a good, reliable arsonist to "take care" of the house for me.

My life has gotten... complicated over the past month or so, and there are some things that have been cropping up unexpectedly lately. I will do my best, but if I see 4/4 logged in, so be it.
