I notified Doug so he's going to check his availability and get back to me.

He doesn't have F76 though do we might need a different option.

LowPhat also mentioned that if you go to the top of the watchtowers and check the railing, there should be something that could put more locations on your map.

For now, it doesn't look like I can play FO76. I've tried every day since Thursday when it started. If I log in with my group character, I'm disconnected within five minutes and rolled back to before I logged in. Every time.

The funny thing is, I can play with my non-group character just fine without any issues at all.

What level is your non-group character - and would you be willing to run that character with the group?

He's 12. I wouldn't mind either way.

I did hear back from Bethesda. They refuse to help because my CPU is 0.1GHz slower than their minimum. If it were a CPU issue, neither character would be playable.

Well that's shitty of them.

I should document when my screen freezes and everybody else (including attacking mobs) don't.

Honestly? I think I'm done. I'll step out for now so the rest of you can play. I just don't want to keep spending half of every session sorting out technical issues and bugs, from missing clothing to invisible players to vanishing traded items to disconnects and everything else. I'm tired of fighting the game instead of playing it. And it's a shame, really. I loved having a world to explore with you all instead of just running canned missions, and the game had some fun moments.

Suggestions for tonight then?

I'm up for Siege, L4D2, or Strange Brigade.

I'm even up for a run through The Division. The new one is coming up soon and I enjoyed the previous times I played it. I don't recall if everyone has a copy though.

Not on my behalf. I'm not going to be the reason other people don't get to play what they want to.

I'm going to go through a bunch more troubleshooting steps, and hopefully I'll be able to get it to run enough to at least be able to play on game nights.

No luck. I tried everything they suggested in their final message. I verified the files multiple times, I uninstalled it and re-downloaded it, I changed the install location from my game SSD to the default, everything. I'm still booted within a couple of minutes of logging in with our group character. Bethesda has refused to discuss the issue with me, so I'm out of options.

I still don't like the idea of being responsible for other people not getting to play what they are enjoying.

Reaper Bundle with Payday 2

The Division

Both are reputable, established companies with many OOer customers, both give Steam keys, so no extra clients.

More details:

HumbleBundle is owned by IGN (since 2017). IGN is owned by Ziff Davis, parent company of ZDNet. Ziff Davis is owned by J2 Global, who are listed on the NASDAQ.

Fanatical (né Bundle Stars) is owned by Focus Multimedia, which is based in the UK and has been in the industry since 1995.

I finished the tutorial for The Division again. I had forgotten what a pain Ripper could be. I also found that you can team up with friends after about the first two minutes, as soon as you activate. If any of you are having trouble with the tutorial, let me know and I can make a (temporary) new character and go through with you.

Is that the first "boss"? He was seriously frustrating. Tao pretty much stopped playing because of that fight. :)

Yep. I ended up getting him on the third try. Some quick tips:

~If you die, you can refill your supplies before you go up to fight.
~Try to save the gas cans until the boss arrives.
~Fight from way, way back
~Use cover as much as possible, preferably ducking in before you ever lose the first bar of health
~Gear you pick up carries over between deaths, so if you see something good drop (beam of colored light), consider grabbing it, even if it gets you killed. You will be able to equip it before going back out after you respawn.

As I recall, it also took me a few tries. I think I ended up having the best success by 1) staying back, and 2) using the cover on the right/left side. I believe that allowed me to move around him some once he advanced. He's still a prick though.

For each weekend in February that you log in to GTA V you will receive $250,000 for a total of $1,000,000 if you log in each weekend.

Also, I assume we are playing at regular time tomorrow. I have no particularly strong desire to watch the Super Bowl since our Chiefs lived up to their usual "get knocked out during the playoffs" tradition.

Not sure if anybody else was planning on watching the entire thing tomorrow.

Tempting. Though I don't know what this means:
Tom Clancy’s The Division™ Season Pass is provided via Uplay key for Windows. For key redemption, a free Uplay account is required.
My copy of The Division is through Steam, not UPlay. Although, I just checked, and it looks like UPlay can tell that... I have it listed in my games. I'm assuming, then, that I'd have to launch it from UPlay going forward to take advantage of the season pass?

Next question, is all the DLC multiplayer focused? From the descriptions, it doesn't sound like you get any more single player content.

For the first, I'm not certain.

For the second, I've heard that the DLC is fun solo, but I've never gotten that far myself. I do know that the season pass comes with a lot of cosmetic items/weapon skins if you care about that.

In other words, I'm of absolutely no help.

I can't figure out how in the world to run the launcher without launching the game.

/edit - nevermind, found it. I had to go into the install directory and launch it manually. It seems odd that it didn't create a shortcut in the start menu like every other game does.
