I think for now I'll take Glaz and Doc. Trying to figure out what to do for their loadouts. For Glaz, I took the reflex sight and the suppressor - okay choices? For his pistol, I'm thinking the heavier pistol with the laser sight - should I take the suppressor for this?

For Doc - I have no idea so I'm open to suggestions. (I'm open to suggestions re Glaz or anybody else, too).

I've gotten through 8 situations, probably won't do the others until later.

I've unlocked Thatcher, Ash, and Thermite for attackers, plus Mute, Rook, and Bandit for defenders. I've played mostly Rook, Thermite, and Mute.

My thinking is usually that if I'm down to a pistol, silence isn't going to help me.

For Glaz's gadget, the claymore is great for preventing the bad guys from sneaking up on you but if we're planning on going Montagne/Glaz combo, then smoke grenades. The reason is that with the flip sight up on Glaz's sniper rifle, targets through the scope are automatically highlighted making them easy to see through the smoke while limiting their sight lines.
For Doc - I have no idea so I'm open to suggestions. (I'm open to suggestions re Glaz or anybody else, too).
I really like the P90 for doc. That thing is a bullet hose and has high capacity. For his gadet....if it's a protect hostage mission then go with the shield and deploy it to protect the hostage. For anything else, go with the barbed wire.

I just unlocked Fuze as well, and played a round of lone wolf terrorist hunt with him to familiarize myself with his toys.

We were trying to get you in there. Apparently it auto-loads the next mission and we got caught unable to back out.

I crashed hard just as I jumped through that window. It wouldn't let me in. I sent a message and sat in the lobby for a while, but I figure you are all about done for the night anyway.

We need to consider something other than Steam chat, such that we can log in directly without waiting for someone who may be in-game to send us an invite.

I have a discord channel I bet we can use. I don't know how it was set up so let me check and if available anyone can use it at any time. Will advise.

Thanks for getting me in tonight, that was fun.

In other news none of you sound like I would expect after reading your posts for almost 20 years

EDIT: BD if you see this...I haven't updated ESO so it is d/l now. I'll hop on when it's done.

Thanks for joining us last night, Jeff. Sorry it couldn't be for the entire session.

My first time playing as Montagne went pretty well though it was most of the night before I realized that I had to hold the middle mouse button down to keep his shield deployed. I died several times that should/could have been avoided if I'd known that I wasn't fully covered by the shield.

Karen, good work with Glaz. The Montagne/Glaz combo really works out well. Let me know if there's anything you need me to do to make it easier. Stuff like "Move left/right" or such. I will try to give better indicators on where the bad guys are. Instead of saying "to my left/right/straight ahead" I'm going to try to give relative positional info like, "12 O'clock, 9 O'clock" etc if you think that will help.

Sorry for not being more proactive after your crash Blackhawk. I was thinking you would simply rejoin like in Vermintide or such. Completely forgot you needed to be given an invite.

No worries.

I had a blast. The only problem was that with us split up, we had two groups competing for radio time. There were several times that one of us would have important information and wasn't able to get a clear mic. We need to come up with a solution for that, whether it is sticking together or brevity.

I had a great time! This game is so fun in a group.
Thanks for letting me shoot while hiding behind your shield, Brian. Currently I think we're playing okay. About halfway through the night I finally started saying "move left" and "move right". In the future I'll try to do a better job of checking behind us.

On defense, it was so much faster getting barricades up with 4 and 5 of us (Mix pointed this out in-game). I didn't do much, but I had never played Doc before. I suspect that I'll stick to a support role with him - keeping my teammates alive seems like a good idea. :)

Speaking as a complete newbie to this game (but not shooters or even tactical shooters in general), I think we could raise the difficulty a notch.

I know Brian you had said you were about to bump it up before I joined, but outside of you executing me gangland style while I was kneeling--we only had a few casualties and several flawless victories.

Looking for group

Post by Carpet_pissr »

Just found this thread from searching on "vermintide". MP is not really my thing, usually because of time restraints, but I find myself on let's say "sabbatical" from my normal work.

Anyone still playing Vermintide? Read the first 6 pages of the thread, and just discovered the game recently myself (via Humble Bundle).

Would be interested in playing some games with you guys if any slots open (and playing games I like :)

I'm a SERIOUS newbie when it comes to this genre, so I should probably practice on my own with bots first (still have not figured out how to play a bot only game in vermintide yet).

I saw you playing the other night. 80+ hours in 2 weeks. You should be a pro by now.

Bot only games are as simple as logging in, picking a character, going to the table/map, picking a mission, AND checking the little box by the start button that says... Friends Only? Something like that. Since you aren't in a game with any friends, the bots will take over the other players.

I definitely still dabble. So I'd be happy to hop on and run through some maps with you. By now the core team knows pretty much exactly what spawns when.

BD and I ran him through Black Powder. And tried to impart useful info. However, apparently his headset wasn't too helpful, so it's likely he didn't hear much. Oh well.

And besides, whacking the ogre on Easy never gets old. :P

Thanks again, guys! I will be sure to work on my gear/audio settings but I still heard you maybe 50% of the time in game. The problem was all the background noise.

NPC voices and the squealing of rat...people were kind of drowning your voice out. :)

Here's the link to the Discord channel for OO:

https://discord.gg/9gCUwR

It's super easy to setup, always on, and people can drop in and out at their leisure. There is also chat.

I'll see if I can start a LFG voice channel as well.

PS: Thanks to Sudy Nym for setting this up last Spring!

Up to now I've only unlocked Glaz and Doc. I'm thinking of unlocking IQ for offense and Smoke for defense.
Then if I have enough renown left, Ash - or I can just save up renown for later.

Save some renown for purchasing improvements for your weapons on you regular operators. Laser sights, forward grips, etc. They do offer some minor stat boosts.

Okey Doke.
Btw, we've started using Discord. If you don't have it, you should dl & install it then look for us. Unlike Steamchat, if you crash out you don't need to wait for an invite to get back into the chat.

oh yeah: Ash or IQ?

I don't think I've played Ash. And while IQ's ability is sorta 'meh', I actually like her gun. With a decent scope, it's pretty easy to kill with it. Though you'd have to test it to see how it feels to you.

Edit: I opened up Smoke as well. So at least now I have 4 defense options. It was feeling pretty weak for options.

On a separate note, after bombing again in PvP (though I did at least manage a couple of kills this time), I played some Lone Wolf Terrorist Hunts. I actually managed to win 2 in a row. The second one I had 4 health for the escort out and managed to take out the 6 or so terrorists camping the extraction zone. Thank god for scopes (and their incredibly poor aim - and lack of scopes).

IQ is great for finding the nitro cells and has a decent gun but is otherwise unremarkable. I used her a lot when I first started playing because I got tired of being kerploded but now I know what to listen for so don't (usually) need the early warning anymore.

Ash is great for multiplayer since she can pop upstairs windows allowing Glaz to snipe from a distance. Not sure how useful she'd be in PvE but it doesn't hurt to try new things.

Basically I'm useless for giving advice. :)

Ash is also nice as a misdirect in multiplayer. Stack up on point A, then breach point D. The advantage of having a ranged breach largely goes away in PvE, as everything you can do with Ash you can do better with someone else - which is why I like Fuze.
