There's a small update today - didn't noticeably add time to the R6 start up.

It did "bust" my launcher again, though. Kept telling me that I needed to check my internet connection or verify that I had enough space.

This time I tried rebooting first. That seemed to sort it out.

Maybe it doesn't like that I didn't install in the default location? Or maybe it just doesn't like me? At least this time I didn't do a reinstall.

With its success I doubt we'll see a price drop any time soon, and watching videos has seriously intimidated me in terms of skill level and speed at which the game is over for the vast majority of players, both of which would normally turn me away, yet there is a certain appeal to playing a hunger games-esque game. Combine that with the ease and speed of jumping into a new match and I'm intrigued.

Battlegrounds is the type game I used to love and still like a bit. I could play it if I doubled my medication haha....Id do ok..may do well but most times Id die and never know how or where from and it would simply PISS ME OFF grrrrr. Also it would not keep my attention more than a month if that.

Now if my old buddy who was a huge gamer but quit a few years back would join me Id have a lot more fun.

FYI, Insurgency is <$2 right now at HumbleBundle. I think someone (RedFive?) suggested it also as an option.

So I recorded most of tonight's session and I have one particularly funny moment I'm hoping to edit into a short video and put up on YouTube sometime this week.

It was Hostage Protect on the awful Rio map. I had tossed some C4 out onto the landing at the stairs and had a nice little view window knocked out through the barricaded door so I could see them coming.
Sure enough, a couple guys show up and I pop the C4 which tosses one of the Tango's right through the tiny opening in the barricade.

You'll see what I mean once I get it uploaded.

Ok, thanks to gilraen for the suggestion of AviDemux, I was able to create a clip of the event.

Now to go through the entire 3 hours of recorded video and search for more fun/interesting highlights.
If you remember anything from the last game session you'd like to see (from my player's point of view) let me know.

Bad guy gets the drop on Blackhawk. (Updated to shorter video)

I get some Fuze kills on a Bomb mission plus Bomber Guy fails miserably in his attempt to kill Bad Demographic.

The bad guys all just lined up begging me to shoot them.

I do seem to remember unloading on your friend (Omaha? Not wanting to use his real name here...) when he walked up beside us while I was healing you once. I couldn't see his name tag or body, just his legs and gun barrel. I thought he was a terrorist that had wandered up and was just standing there like they do sometimes. I kept watching the revive circle timer going around and thinking "don't shoot! Just stay stuck one... more... second... Done!" At which point I opened up on him.

I played some Counterstrike several years ago and on the map where you spawn on a roof and have to drop down onto a dumpster/crate, I kept missing the crate. After that I just named my character "Splat".

Yup, working now. I set mine to "Unlisted" so they don't show up unless directly linked to or you go to my playlist.

No, that was when I was bleeding out at the back door to the bank and you repelled down from the roof and shot the two baddies standing over me and hitting me in the process.

I didn't mind. I was mostly dead at that point anyway.

Finally, this was this afternoon, when BadDemo and I played a few rounds. We scouted with drones, blew the wall next to the hostage, and grabbed him. We spent less than 20 seconds total inside on that mission.

We ran four or five like that. It took us a few tries to get the technique down, but we'd get close and safe (roof, usually), drone, find entrances to the room with the hostage, and the extraction point. At this point, we hadn't fired a shot so they didn't know we were there. We'd then breach and clear that room and be out and somewhere safe to pick off the guys who spawned on the extraction point (we usually went back to the roof.) We never bothered clearing the rest of the house.

I either must not fully understand Avidemux but I have repeatedly tried to add audio tracks to the files and it's just not working for me. I'm going to have to try a different program I think.

My favorite from the latest batch was me confusing my grenade button for my gadget button.

I got lucky with the sound. I think I had to save the soundtrack I wanted as an .mp3. Then when you open up the video, select audio, then locate the file you saved. Lastly, don't forget to save your newly combined video and audio.
