:animals-fishgreen: .. this just released on GOG (and Steam) as a preorder with a Feb 2 2017 finish date

20,000 pieces of loot under the sea.
Diluvion, an open-world action/RPG of free exploration, is now available for pre-order at 15% off.
Centuries ago, our great civilization got buried under tons of cold water. The survivors somehow persevered long enough to build a network of submerged cities, each with its own culture, religion, and way of life. As the captain of a humble submarine you are chosen by fate to go on a journey that might bring humanity's best-kept secret to the surface.

But there's a reason nobody managed to survive this mission before: The ocean is full of deep-sea horrors, unclaimed treasure, hidden societies, and uncharted places. To brave them all you'll need to spiff up your sub with upgrades and hire a skillful crew to help you navigate the many dangers lurking there. Face the challenges head-on with a formidable dreadnaught or swim the path of the silent hunter but no matter your approach, be mindful: the sea is dark and full of giant terrors.

Pre-order now to secure your access to a unique ship called The Deringer, as well as the Digital Captain's Journal for an in-depth look at the game's lore & mythology. You can also pick up the Fleet Edition Upgrade, which features a digital copy of the game's Soundtrack, a Digital Artbook and an exclusive playable sub, the Manta.

Pre-order Diluvion today and get ready for an underwater odys-sea full of heart-pounding combat, peculiar encounters, and terrible monsters, coming soon, DRM-free on GOG.com.

The 15% pre-order discount will be available until the game's expected release on February 2nd.

That looks good and it reminds me of a great series of games called AquaNox but that remark about it being like Dark Souls and crew management like FTL totally turns me off. I hate roguelikes. The crew stuff is ok but I dont like the one life aspect or the difficulty associated with the DS games. I am not a glutton for punishment.

I remember this one back on Kickstarter. It looked really interesting but I chose not to back because I didn't think they were asking for a realistic amount of money (only 40k). I'm glad they were able to somehow pull it off.

It sounds really cool, but I need to see more of it to make a judgement. I didn't instantly fall in love with the "player sub" but thought a lot of the enemies were cool. Unfortunately, too - it looks like "water" is hardly a thing and it's just a space game with submarines in a blue nebula. I need to get more detail...

Video looks good, but it's rare video these days that doesn't.

If comments are positive after release I'll definitely look into it. Will add it to my wishlist in any case.

I was ready to buy Diluvion thinking it would be a good change of pace, but after watching this video I decided against doing so.

I don't know what "permission" is required; I don't have any problem viewing it. :?

Thanks. When a video is region locked you get a " not available in your country" message. When a video is marked as private you get a different message.

I've never seen the " you don't have permission" message before.

In any case I can see it from my phone. I'll double check on my desktop later to see if I'm still getting the "permission" message.

Weird.

edit: From my desktop
This video is restricted. It must be approved for you to view it.
Sorry about that.

Having now watched the video, it didn't turn me off the game. The game has problems, but they are the kind of problems I assume the developer would work on. And he had lots of positive things to say about the game.

If anything the video made me even more curious about the game than I was before, although admittedly I was only vaguely interested before, so finding out the game has problems isn't as disheartening as it would be for a bigger fan. Probably.

If you check the Steam forums the devs have a sticky thread for controls and they are taking suggestions on a lot of stuff.

I came across this in my owned games list and couldn't remember why I didn't play it. Installed and instantly found out why I didn't play it.....cant use arrows for movement. When I try to bind them it says they are in use for something else. But they are not listed in the controls anywhere. So that sucks. I just cant do WASD controls.

I used to tell myself this over and over and over. Arrows or nothing, baby!

Then I got tired of remapping everything in half the games I played and forced myself to learn. No issues now. WASD or arrows. Whatever. I certainly wouldn't throw out a game because I couldn't be bothered to use the other half of the keyboard. :D

Big update today. Free to owners others have to buy with the game. Adds gamepad support and lots more. Has arrow keys support now. Just took a year for something simple but at least it has it now.

Game seems broken. When I dock at the very first station I can only view it from far away and it looks like Im in a rock looking towards the station. Im so far away the entire station in in my viewscreen. No controls do anything not even the mouse and the only thing I see is press V to exit internal view but that does nothing either. I can only quit the game.
