I just cannot catch the Stranger when he is in those elevators on the bottom right. The silly way they have the game scroll means it wont go over that far and stay unless I zoom to one of the room then scroll. Then its too late.

One suggestion: Destroy the upper right room, remove the elevator, and rebuild the room with no elevator on the top level except for the one on the left. It will help later with deathclaws. It forces them to cross the top floor twice, which lets you super-arm that floor into a killing zone.
Followed your suggestion.

What you'll see is that enemies are programmed to complete one floor, then move to the elevator to the next floor. With that arrangement, they'll hit your door room, then the power plant, then the room on the right, then the power plant again, then the elevator. That means they hit your strongest guards (in the power plant) twice.

So far they haven't made it through the guards once. When do the raiders start becoming more difficult? After so many rooms maybe or so many dwellers perhaps.

It is not the raiders that you need to worry about.

Figures. I need to fight 7 fires to get some loot. I fight 5 and figure Ill just rush a couple rooms and get those fires. 16 or so rushes later I have 1 failure and get rad roaches. :) If I didn't need a fire then 2 out of 3 would burn.

Depends on what you've got to fight them with. They do a ton of damage, but they tend to move fast and will frequently leave a swathe of badly injured behind them without killing as many as you'd expect (although they'll still chew low level dwellers into Cram.)

You'll eventually get deathclaws regardless of the radio. The enemies you face are based on your population. Cross certain thresholds and you get tougher enemies.

Charisma? That's for making babies faster and for passing random checks when exploring the wasteland. After Endurance, look at Agility (attack speed), Luck (critical meter fill rate) and Perception (critical guage crosshair speed.)

Would be nice to have the option to shut down unused rooms until you need them....especially the training rooms for stats. I now have to have 3 fully upgraded power rooms to just barely stay ahead. I now have 40 people too.

Cant get the full vault into the pic now ...had to cut off the top room tops and bottom room floor.

I tried playing this again "as intended" - just for a few minutes before getting into something else - and it's far more tolerable when you're not waiting on anything. I'm up to 35 Dwellers, which is just enough to unlock the Endurance room. I've got a squad of 6 fresh (level 1) kids born in the Vault in there right now training up, and then they'll perfect themselves in other rooms and these guys will form the backbone of my exploration & questing force.

I don't know if "effort" is the right word for what I'm doing now. I'm basically watering my vault once a day, running a mission, setting up the next one, and quitting until the next day.

Just killed about 20 deathclaws during a mission...including one big mamma one. Didn't give me any problem other than my slow attack speed making me take more damage than I should.

When these 3 get back Im sticking them in the AGILITY training room for a good long time.

And since the DCs weren't any trouble I think Ill turn on my radio to get more dwellers. My guys should handle the DC fine.

I am currently SPECIAL training two squads of level 1 super-dwellers.

They were rescued from their average-dweller parents' unworthy hands at the earliest possible moment. Their virgin eyes shall not see the desolation wrought upon the world by lesser minds until they are at the peak, PEAK of all possible conditioning!

MWAHAHAHAHAhahahaha! Thus sayeth the Overseer! It is written! It shall be DONE!

Ok about those 3 I use for all my questing. I put them in the A training until their stat is almost completely full. Im not sure though if it takes longer and longer the higher their stat gets or if it only will train so far but it seems stuck. All 3 have their stats at the same place...about 1/8 from full and its not moving. I stuck them back in training after a quest run. During the fighting on the quest they 'seemed' to fight faster. Im hoping I can train them the rest of the way and get a big boost to speed. Otherwise Ill have to just put them in some A armor and let that finish off their stat.

During the quest I saw something Id not seen before. They went in a room and large glowing boss scorpion popped out. Now usually they take 2 rounds to kill the normal little stuff but this time as he popped out he was moving to take his place and they were doing the same when one of them fired and insta killed him. I never got to see a health bar or anything before he died...just happened so fast. Was cool :)

It is taking longer and longer to train stat. 1 to 2 need only a few minutes. 9 to 10 is almost 20 hours. Upgrading training room increase the speed slightly. Instead of almost 20 hours for 9 to 10 become almost 19 hours at level 2. Probably not worth it to upgrade training until later when you have upgraded all non training rooms to max.

Need 2 things.

1. A mouse button for ONLY moving my view around. Im So annoyed by having some emergency and trying to move my view only to grab some poor slob and fling them around.

2. Why does it scroll all the way to the left of my vault so I can see but wont go all the way right thereby forcing me to double click a room on the right then stop the zoom in so I can see into my rooms good on that side. Miss a lot of the STranger because of that.

I got my Android savegame transferred to the PC/Steam version.

Lucky me, I just got whacked by THREE deathlclaws. Killed like 5-6 residents, despite almost everyone in the top floors are armed with something.

My wanderers are both dead. Had to revive them to bring back their loot, which are too good to abandon. Guess I left them alone for too long. Should bring them back when they have about 3 stimpacks left. Need more than a dozen to survive the more complicated buildings, esp. when they see the really tough enemies.

Had to build a much larger medbay to get a larger stockpile of stimpaks.

Just in the past two hours I survived 3 deathclaw, 2 raider, and 1 feral ghoul attack. ARGH! I was going to buy an upgrade, but that forced me to revive more than a few dead vaulters. Had to recall all of my wanderers to get their loot and caps. They had 1000 and 2000 respectively.

Okay, I've refitted my entire top two floors with advanced weapons (shotguns or hunting rifles, with 2 advanced weapons, like a flamer and a combat shotgun) so as long as I have enough stims, I can survive deathclaw raids. Raiders are no problems, and feral ghouls are a mere annoyance.

I got my overseer's office built in the wrong place. Now I can't exactly move it, so that's PITA. Guess I have to upgrade it in place. I'm coming up on 90th citizen, and I have enough babies lined up to hit 100 in the next 24 hours (or be very close). I need to send out more expeditions, darn it. The problem is if I send them out with a ton of stims, I generally get hit by a deathclaw raid and end up with dead citizens when I run out of stims. If I don't send them with a lot of stims, they run into trouble and disengaging is problematic. (yes, you can disengage in the middle of combat)

I've recruited several "horror actors" through the encounters. They generally have good stats.

Playing on the PC seems to be a much better experience than on the tablet, though even the larger screen doesn't mean I can catch the mysterious stranger much. :)

If you haven't, read my earlier posts about how to optimize your top floor guards with both stats and weapons. It's been a while since I've played so I don't remember the details off the top of my head, but I posted about it a couple of times.

As I recall, between layout, stats, and weapon choice (big damage numbers vs AoE), a three deathclaw attack rarely got to the second floor, and never required a stimpack. Most of them were dead before they made it through the first floor.

Go somewhere out of the way and build enough extra stimpack rooms that your max is what you need for a full expedition + defense.
