Not that I've thrown much money Bioware's ware in the last 5-10 years or so, but there wasn't much for me to get excited about in that teaser. /shrug

I hate to say it, but that looks like about a hundred games I've played in the past decade. If you'd shown it to me without the context, I'd have guessed it was a Destiny expansion.

Will watch in a sec. No matter what I will never trust Bioware again these days. They aren't the same company or people since EA took them. The docs have left and they are not Bioware. They are dead to me.

I would get a lot more excited about it if Electronic Arts didn't own Bioware.

In-game footage, showing what the game would be like if played by professional voice actors.

Multiplayer ARPG with customized exoskeleton power armour. Could be worse...

I know I'm going to buy it.... Even if Andromeda didn't live up to the hype, I've enjoyed it so far -- I can't see how I wouldn't like this.

Max Peck's link was pretty cool looking. Except for the rocket-pack flying. That really annoyed me. I didn't mind the assisted jumping, but there is no way you could "fly" with one of those strapped on your back. "Accelerated crash" maybe....

Do you complain about Iron Man flying? :)

Ironman at least has additional thrusters on his hands to allow him to add lift and provide directional thrust. And he might have some more flexibility on this boot thrusters. But all they have in that video is jets on the back that point down. Which is fine for providing lift for controlled jumps. But allow you to fly forward, including at an upward angle? I don't think so.

You are welcome to suspend belief. And I'd likely have no problem playing the game. But I did find it jarring.

That occurred to me as well. But I figured that pointing out one absurdity was enough.

What about the odd angle the characters feet are in. Don't see how anyone could run like that...

I think this game is doomed already and theres no hope for it to be good. It just looks like a bad game and a bad concept. Trying to clone Destiny 2 does not a good game make.

Now Bioware has shot themselves in the head wit ha big gun......

BioWare Worries About Anthem’s Success While Anita Sarkeesian Visits Studio

Two pieces of news have come out in a short amount of time that seems to spell inauspicious news for BioWare. First of all, there’s an article over on Kotaku that hints at some of the BioWare developers feeling less than confident about the potential success of the Destiny 2-clone, Anthem; and there’s also confirmation that BioWare Edmonton had a talking to from controversial and stirring culture critic, Anita Sarkeesian.

In the Kotaku piece, it states that Anthem could be delayed all the way from the fall of 2018 to March, 2019 for PC and home consoles. The exact same delay that Mass Effect: Andromeda received, moving from fall of 2016 into March of 2017. We all know how that turned out.

But that’s not even the worst part about BioWare’s position: the developers who spoke to Kotaku fear that Anthem could be their last shot at redemption.
Now if in some way you’re convinced that this may save the game, think again. BioWare Edmonton also received a pep talk from Anita Sarkeesian on January 25th, 2018… yes, the same Sarkeesian who fabricated information about video games in the Tropes Vs Women series in order to demonize them, and the same Sarkeesian who harassed her arch rival at VidCon only for the VidCon organizers to apologize to her after she harassed Sargon of Akkad.

Yes, in today’s bizarro world, you can harass someone and others will apologize to you for harassing that person so long as you’re punching up on the “Progressive Stack”.

EA has been on a downward spiral since adopting a focus on sociopolitical propaganda in their games over making good games. Not only that, but even beyond attempting to appeal to Social Justice Warrior communities, the company has been ratcheting up their anti-consumer monetization practices, which netted them scorn from consumers and investigations from lawmakers.
For Gods sake someone get a shovel and bury that stinking pile of shit that is Bioware.

Couple vids.

Wow, yeah, I have no idea how Anthem will turn out, but that is some Grade A, Alt-Right, Men's Rights, BS.

Ugh, that says more about games journalism's decline than Bioware's.

Thanks for sorting those out so I can add them to my 'biased-avoid' list.

Nah made my mind up long ago after the first trailer. Just not for me. And not what I had hoped from Bioware.

Not sure why they are going this route when Destiny 2 covers it. A small instanced action shooter. D2 was ok for a couple weeks but lost interest fast. Soon as I saw the first trailer for this I rolled my eyes. Bioware lost its way. Should stick with its roots and make a nice RPG. I would almost kill for a KOTOR 3. Miss Bioware since they died those years back. Still HATE EA.

E3 2018 trailer for those who still care. The only thing I liked about this video is the MUSE music.

Might look like 100 other games, but I didn't play any of the others. I do very few shooters. A lot of those "like so many others" is lost on me since I avoid most repetitively similar formulaic games. I just pluck one out of the herd once in a blue moon for variety from everything else.

I like the concept of the armored suit. Waiting to see how it all pans out before deciding.

I haven't kept up with this game's development. Is this a destiny clone? What makes it unique?

The combat looks satisfying and I like you can single play this game if you want or just have random players along for the battles but it's not required.

Are there any preorder advantages/exclusives/tchotchkes/horse armor to keep in mind for this?

If you pre-order you get VIP Demo access.

You get the exclusive advantage of having the opportunity to feel burned and ripped off first?

I mean, Anthem might be good. I hope it is and, if so, I will probably buy it. But haven't we learned to stop feeding the preorder beast by now, especially for the major, corporate publishers like EA?

If you want to pre-order, go right ahead is my take. I have a personal dislike of other people telling me how to spend my money. Some people will want the VIP demo, more power to them.

I already know I want to play it on day 1, so locking in a purchase a month early to get an extra demo weekend isn't much of a gamble for me.

I'm vaguely mildly interested, but after the CF of FO76 and the fact that it's an EA/Origin title. Nah. Yes I know Bethesda and EA have nothing to do with each other. Let me tell you of the story of Elizabeth and Abraham.

EA has way more expierence publishing, launching and supporting a multiplayer game than Bethesda. I wouldnt worry to much in that regard. Now if Bioware created a buggy pos than yea not much EA can do about that except make sure server issues are at a min. Im on the EA pass thingy so ill play it on early access and report back.
