Thanksgiving Steam Sale in effect!

Post by Carpet_pissr »

I didn't see a thread for this oddly enough.

Question: For the game nominations, what in the actual hell are they looking for here?

"The “Cry Havoc And Let Slip The Dogs Of War” Award
The Bard said it best. This game doesn't necessarily offer the biggest explosions... it offers something better. Potential. Potential to be a rampaging force of nature. Or not. Who knows. You're an agent of chaos and no one is going to tell you what to do."

Was someone on crack when they wrote that? The game with the best potential explosions?! Potential to be a great game, but it currently isn't? A game where you play a chaotic character, and/or blow shit up good?! WTF man.

There’s no requirements. Just vote all the categories, play something you voted for, and write or update a review for a game you voted on. Get badge, ???, profit.
It's almost as if people are the problem.

Maybe it's just me, but some of the award categories/descriptions seem a little... political.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War covers most of that one (depending on where you fall in the Great Loot-Crate Debate).

As someone that owns all the other Sniper games, they're telling me I can get #4 for $18.15 if I buy the bundle - essentially giving me a bigger discount than buying it solo ($20.39) because they credit you the bundle price. That seems like a crazy deal. Hopefully it's back in another month - but check those bundle prices as they might end up saving you another couple of dollars.

I own Elite V2 apparently. Do not remember playing it at all (maybe I never have). Any others in the series better than that one?

I enjoyed V2, but after playing the third one (and all the DLC) it was leaps and bounds better. From what I understand, the newest (#4) takes it to a whole additional level. It's hard to recommend them, however, if you didn't play the second one and enjoy it. The games seems to have a very polarized fan base - you either love it or hate it. I'd say spend some time with the second one over the next month and if you like it enough, jump in for the rest. That being said, $6 for the 3rd game is bananas. :D

I haven't been able to manage 4 yet, but 3 was a really fantastic game if you like careful shooters.

Dammit, y'all. SOLD (Sniper 3).

Apparently Rock, Paper, Shotgun also loved it.

I think it's probably an action-y shooter - not that it's like DOOM or Farcry in any capacity. But in terms of realism, the overall game has an action-movie feel. You can dial up the shooting model so it's crazy realistic (bullet drop, wind, velocity, etc...) but I always play on a normal level and enjoy the hell out of getting into position, waiting, and then taking the *perfect* shot. YMMV.

Err... Vitruvius was a Roman engineer (wrote books on road and aqueduct building). I would say City Skylines is a perfect fit for that!

Ive played games from two different Sniper game series and loved both. Off hand and without looking I cant name them. One is a WW2 era one and the other is modern..I think the last i played was set in a jungle.

Grabbed Steep for $20. Played it over a free weekend and thought it was a great zen like chill out game. Wasn't worth $60 but at $20 I'm in Steep.

Picked up:
  • The Crimson Court DLC for Darkest Dungeons as I'm in the middle of that game and it's a mid-game add-on
  • Age of Gladiators was ~ $1 and looks like fun
So sayeth the wise Alaundo.

Oh, there's some pretty good prices on wargames. I'm tempted to get Decisive Campaigns: The Blitz for $9.59 and Command: The Great War for $9.89
