After watching someone stream this on Twitch I got the urge to play. But wow at all the frustrations with a 24 year old game. Maybe I should give up now and not ruin my rose colored lenses. Im trying the Enhanced version from GoG. It supports higher reses but not near enough and I cant change controls. It wants me to use the WASD keys to move and other around them to run and change to mouse look. If I could rebind those to arrows and keys around that it would go a long way to helping me play. But reaching way across my keyboard and cedar chest to reach those WASD keys wont do.

Then the best res I can get is 1024x768. Its a small window in the middle of my 2560x1080 monitor. I think it will be ok if I play without the encircling UI and just full screen it. But the controls are killing me. I may have to skip 1 and go straight to SS2.

Getting a little closer. Have gotten arrows to work for movement. Now if I can get the run and the mouselook keys rebound Ill be close to playing.

EDIT: Ok cant rebind any numpad keys at all but did manage to rebind the keys above the arrows for run and mouselook....like using delete as run and end as mouselook. Not elegant or as handy but works.

EDIT2: I got it! Got all my keys bound and even found how to move in cyberspace. Though I still dont know what all the icons are in cyberspace yet. I went in and failed to open the doors that were locked went in again and unlocked them. No idea how though. Also kinda iffy on exiting but at least I can move fine. I should be able to play now. Its been 24 years! Hope I dont ruin my good memories.

Thanks will do. Right now the biggest trouble is the crazy respawning on the lower lvls. I clear as I go but if I turn around they are back. I forgot that part it seems.
