Revenant

Post by Daehawk »

Saw someone stream this and thought it looked fun. I could swear I own it but couldn't find it and grabbed it on GoG for $1.50. Too bad it crashed on launch with no error box. First GoG game I own that has a crash. It may be a windows color setting like 16 instead of 32 but with Nvidia having the desktop in its clutches now I cant find that setting easy and dont feel like looking today. My kidney is killing me even after medicine.

Well I did get to the error box by ctrl alt tab'n to see it. Says...

DirectX error DDERR_EXCEPTION
in file d:\revenant\DDSurface.cpp at line 842

Which is a little strange as its on G drive and nothing is on D drive

If I skip the desktop shortcut and GoG and run it from the launcher I can choose options and if I choose window mode it gives me a 'game must run is 16 bit pixel mode'

Wweeeeee (I*^*(^%%^&&

Ok set it to 16 bit color. GoG and shortcut both make a sound and same crash. Window opens the Revenant start window screen then stops working itself. F it.

I'd copy and paste this info over on the game's GoG forum.

Hopefully you can get your money back. Steam is great about returns but I have personally had GOG not honor their return policy on a game that kept crashing for me, even after jumping through all their hoops, sending a save file, crash log, etc. That is the main reason I won’t purchase from them any more, actually.

Still, $1.50 isn’t too bad if you can’t. :D
