First amount is total spent money on Steam.
Second one is amount spent until 2015 (time Steam's updated their backend)
I hope my wife never, ever sees that page. It also doesn't include anything I bought on other sites that gave me steam keys... eep.

Better than I would have expected. Just under $3,000 over the last 10.5 years with Steam. 267 games, averaging about $11.24 per game. The real trick will be finding a way to calculate the total hours played across all titles. That might stagger my wife more than the money... and it doesn't include offline, GOG, and other non-Steam games.

I mean... it's not terrible considering I buy 95% of my games through Steam, I've been on since Half Life 2 released, and all I really do in my free time is play games. That's not terrible, right? ... Right?

Not as bad as I thought, $3,100 for 321 games.

The number of those that I've never played is the scarier number.

Here's a site to show hours played. You'll need to log in with your Steam account for it to work (and your Steam account needs to be public).

$3,710.83, sorry man I think maybe you do have a problem.

I buy lots of games on green man and humble so those aren't included, but I am pretty sure I don't get anywhere close to your number and I buy lots of games day one.

I suspect a lot of it is actually gifts. A lot of my friends and family are on Steam, and I buy them a lot of gifts through there, not to mention randomly buying gifts for OO folks when the mood strikes me.

Yea, $1886 for me. I was like wow, then I saw some of the other posts and thought, well, not so bad then.

Sons and daughters of OO! My brothers and sisters! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me! A day may come when the servers of Steam work on sale day, when we forsake our jobs and break all limits of credit. But it is not this day. An hour of loading and shattered logins when the servers of Steam come crashing down! Well, it is this day actually! This day we wail! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you click! Men and women of the OO!

$64.51

Of course, I now play games almost exclusively on the console. I think the last Steam game I bought was the first South Park RPG.

I'm pretty sure 90% of his games are bought with card money that he earned from games from bundle sites. He doesn't actually spend money on steam.

Could be worse . . . I've spent that much on hats in a free to play game in the last few weeks.

Then you're going to love the Saliens game they have going on right now. They just give you game-themed hats for your Salien to wear for free. Well, you need to play the game. But other than that, totally free.

Everything was fine until I opened the Steam client...and it lagged and lagged. I closed it and started my browser and then it lagged and lagged. Wth...thanks Steam.

It's new as far as Steam providing the information. Other sites used MSRP for estimates of the value of your account, but Steam tells you exactly how much you spent. Thus the posting.

I was late to the party Steam party. All y'all had been doing Steam for years before I settled but I'm not feeling too bad about

TotalSpend 2018-06-21 07:52:11.357 $1,228.05

I just don't know how much to add to GOG and other direct platforms an "unlock on steam" games purchased through 3rd parties in recent years, though. That might make things a bit more shameful

For me:
TotalSpend 2018-06-21 18:09:32.247 $2,688.59
That's much lower than I would have thought as I've somehow amassed 731 games in my library.

EDIT: I have been better at using Bundles and buying keys elsewhere to activate on STEAM. I dunno. Still seems low.
Maybe next year, maybe no go
